Jane and Michael Stern's ENCYCLOPEDIA OF BAD TASTE was one of the foundational texts of my life. How did I get this way? By realizing that low culture has a history as well. It isn't just opera and oil paintings that deserve to be known about.

Similar to the Very Serious Word Talker People complaining about leftists who knew the Iraq war was a fucking debacle in the making back in 2003, all the way here in 2025. There's an institutional inability to admit being wrong about moral issues with VERY easy answers.
My takeaway from every new Epstein revelation is that some powerful people victimized many powerless young women, many more knew, some actively enabled it--and we're still being told that MeToo and accountability for sexual violence have gone too far
