Welcome, new followers! 👋❤️ I guess I should do a new intro! 😅 I'm Xenia, a nonbinary, ND, disabled, chronically ill artist in Norway (originally from US). I love to draw all fantasy and furry critters, but especially winged ones! 🪽 I'm also an old-school traditional artist learning digital media. 😊

I'm begging any artists still using Twitter claiming it's integral to their work to just leave. It's been revealed the site works off a made up "credit score" from hell and punishes you for posting like a normal human being.

Abandon Twitter for good. It's time. It's been time.
A quoted tweet from a user named Sam that reads: "How Twitter is rigged Type in all caps because you're excited? Lowers your reputation. Include links? Your score goes down. It's like the Credit Score system from Hell. And given Cisgender is treated as a slur & MAGA boosted, you can guess what's categorized as 'offensive'" The tweet they quoted is from user SADIQ and reads: "Tweepcred is X's reputation system Based on your behavior, you get a tweepcred score It determines your reach Break the algo rules, you score goes down and your reach disappears What are the rules of the X algo tho? Glad you asked." SADIQ includes a photo of Twitter's algorithm code that calculates a user's reputation. SADIQ continues: "Post 'offensive text'? 80% reach reduction Offensive username? 80% reach reduction All caps tweet? That's seen as 'shouting. Major penalization. Include links? Yup, penalized"

i think the inability to tell the difference between "i don't like it" and "i don't like it so i have to figure out a way to imply this thing i don't like is morally evil" is the most fundie thing i see people who are aren't technically fundie regularly do these days

If we can only have art from people who "aren't in it for the money" that means we can only have art from privileged middle-class dilettantes. Making art being a viable career is responsible for nearly all worthwhile art, and if it's not a viable career any more we will get drastically less of it.

This summer, we attended a wedding where the four recent Oxford grads who were giving the best man's speech/es, admitted to using Chat GPT to help with the poem they dedicated to the happy couple.

Later, on our way home, we followed a plumber's van with a gen AI logo.

My point is we're fucked.

I was a happy kid, but I came from an unhappy home. My mom was a chain-smoking alcoholic, prone to unexpected outbursts. Learning to draw was my way out. I did this pen and ink drawing from observation of a rocking chair when I was 13 years old. More on Substack.
