Remember your favorite creator possibly might be struggling with imposter syndrome and doubt and this timeline sucks.. so if you find yourself thinking “wow I really relate to this persons work” or that persons work gives you joy, you should probably tell them. It’s a hard time to be a creative.

It's funny how when I do the opposite sometimes and draw my character peacefully sleeping with his infant daughter in his arms I still get people saying "WHAT ARE YOU PLOTTING? >:,(" and it's like: Nothing, actually. 😭
My favorite thing about creating and owning characters is that I can just be needlessly cruel to them for no reason and nobody's allowed to get mad at me.

Sorry for the little tangent. It's still something I get reminded of (in general) how even a lot of other LGBT people have their own perceptions and ideals of what trans people should look like or do in art and even in real life.

As I was drawing this I remembered when I was talking about depicting Mat no-op or even with a reduction and the amount of people who asked "why not give him top surgery?" and even asked ME "why didn't YOU get top surgery instead of reduction. never heard of a trans guy doing that" was so bizarre.
