4 panel comic

P1: A little one-eyed robot lies in a bed, tucked under a floral pattern quilt. Two scientists stand in the background, looking confused. The older one on the left, holding a tablet device in his left hand, says "I... I don't understand..."

P2: Close up on the scientists, as the older one says "I didn't program them to be capable of sleep, see?" as he hands the tablet over to the younger scientist. The latter looks down at the tablet with a look of bemusement, as he says "HUH. And they even..."

P3: The older interjects with "INDEED. I switched them on, and they immediately constructed a bed..." The younger guy raises the tablet for a closer look, with obvious shock on his face.

P4: Closeup on the robot, looking utterly snug and content. The older scientist finishes with "...then they just crawled right in. That was two weeks ago."

A four panel comic, with each panel being narrow, while filling the height of the page. Each panel shows a serene looking scene, with fluffy clouds filling the skies in each.

The first panel starts with a caption box which reads "This too--," while the fourth panel ends on "--shall pass." 16 panel comic, laid out --depending on how you look at it-- either on the outer or inner surface of a cube. I'm doing my best impression of Scott McCloud

A page from my comic "Land of NOJ," which was published in The Phoenix. Way too much to describe here. It's basically a kind of choose your own adventure comic, where the reader makes their way along either a red or blue path to try and make it to a good ending.

The setup is that a character called Suze is obsessed with games, so she uses a six-sided die to make a decision. The reader also requires a die to make their way through the comic.

I remember thinking "surely not" way back when I first started getting into emulation, and I came across a ROM for this.

'Duke Nukem 3D' on the Sega Mega Drive released on this day in 1998.

Tec Toy's "conversion" of Duke 3D to the Mega Drive is nothing short of a technical marvel. Unfortunately; it is also frustratingly clunky, notoriously difficult, and challenging to even visually parse.

I go feral for any game that ties horror and RPG together, so when I found this Mystery Dungeon game inspired by Resident Evil, I had to give it a shot! Just a couple hours in, and it scratches an itch I didn't even know I had. store.steampowered.com/app/2005870/...

When that infamous Edge review of Doom said "if only you could talk to these creatures," this is what they had in mind.

It progresses nicely. A good healthy glow.
Another selfie, where I stare back goggle-eyed. The bruise under my right eye has grown in size a bit, and is now going very purple.

Incredible work, yeah. It'd be difficult enough to nail those effects in a single drawing, but then having to repeat that for multiple frames? Mind boggling.

the only comic discourse I care about
A comic titled "How to Draw Comics," in which a serene looking being is stood before a table, on which is a single sheet of paper and a pencil. The being is staring at us.

They then peek down at the sheet of paper, and the POV switches to that of the being, so we can see what is on the page. A single word is written there:

"Don't"

The POV switches back, but is closer on the being's strangely serene face as they continues staring at the page.

They then stare directly at us, the serene face implying the opposite.

Found this from thirteen years ago. A big Bunny Vs Monkey picture search I did for The Phoenix, above are the inks and below the finished printed version. It’d be fun to do more of these but they take so long!

Oh, believe me, detective, I am equally *baffled* as to how this could have happened.

The only thing I liked about him in the comics was his bromance with Beast.
