Happy 187th birthday to Jonah Hex! Here's a little post with some recent Hex news, as well as some more personal stuff regarding my work on getting "An Illustrated History of Jonah Hex" into published book form.

Ol' Jonah got an early birthday gift this year!
While I am sorry to say that the book version of "An Illustrated History of Jonah Hex" is still not available yet (I'll talk more about that...

THEY collided with HER car, so that somehow made her worthy of being dragged from her car and detained without charges? 🤬
In Chicago, a woman was driving to get coffee when a DHS vehicle fleeing an angry crowd crashed into her car. Armed agents jumped out of the vehicle, yanked her door open, pulled her by the legs out of her car at gunpoint, held her incommunicado for hours, then released her with no charges.
"Crom" the Barbarian? I wonder if the Howard estate ever became aware of this...
Wholeheartedly agree. And Darwyn Cooke issues like this one upped J&J's already-excellent work.
God, the 2000s Jonah Hex run was so good
Funny you mention Gardner Fox, as I just came across this other post mentioning him at Marvel. I honestly had no idea he'd ever worked for them!

Marvel Premiere 6 (Jan 1973) cover by Mike Ploog. This issue is another rare Gardner F. Fox at Marvel story, as Dr. Strange continues to face Robert E. Howard/H.P. Lovecraft- type menaces.
Translation from Spanish:
"Jonah Hex's adventures in Gotham are going very hard."

That's a bit of an understatement!
Las aventuras de Jonah Hex en Gotham van durísimo.

Translation from Spanish:
"Another pleasant surprise so far: the unlikely pairing of Jonah Hex and Amadeus Arkham solving crimes in Victorian Gotham works wonderfully, and the artwork gives the setting the atmosphere it deserves."

That's right, ol' Jonah is a hit in any language!
All-Star Western vol.1

Otra agradable sorpresa de momento, la improbable pareja de Jonah Hex y Amadeus Arkham resolviendo crímenes en la Gotham victoriana funciona de maravilla y el dibujo le da la atmósfera que merece a la ambientación.

Yes, Donald Sutherland also played the clumsy waiter in the Samuel L. Bronkowitz classic "That's Armageddon".

I had a feeling it might've been B.S. when I heard the operation took place in Dearborn (for those unaware, that Michigan city has the largest concentration of Muslims in the entire United States).
I actually made a blog post yesterday apologizing for not having a long-running project published yet. I kinda let the past year slip by me. It's damn hard to think your work matters when the world is slowly falling apart, but I'm going to redouble my efforts over the coming months.

That pic feels so relaxing to my eyes. Very cozy to me!
We give out comics every year. Sometimes the adults are more excited than the kids when they see that!
You saw the bathroom pics too?
I'm not happy that they only say "reconsidered" and not "rescinded", but I'll take the small victory.
BREAKING: A federal court ruled that the FDA's unnecessary restrictions on medication abortion are unlawful and must be reconsidered.

This decision reaffirms that our access to safe and essential medicines should be dictated by science, not politics.
This is REAL LIFE with MODERN PEOPLE, so it somehow becomes MORE SERIOUS that they are dealing with WEIRD SHIT. BTW when I finally saw Rosemary's Baby about 10 years ago, I thought it was very dumb, but I suppose it came off as incredibly scary to the MODERN PEOPLE with REAL LIVES back then. 2/2
The major trend I noticed was the "big city horror" I guess you'd call it. The storylines of The Exorcist, Rosemary's Baby, and the remake of Invasion of the Body Snatchers all played off the fact that they weren't taking place in a small isolated town or on the moors. 1/
