I'm just a late bloomer. I didn't peak in high school - I'm still out here getting cuter. (Anarcho-Socialist | Jewish & Autistic | CisHet | He/They/Dude/Y'all | Official PFP by @kurtbelcher.bsky.social) www.nicknamenick.com

"French remake of Ace Ventura: Pet Detective"

Wait, why doesn't it *already* exist? Especially back when Jerry Lewis was a big thing over there. In fact, it feels like Ace Ventura *should* be the remake of a French film starring Jerry Lewis...

I love the trope in fiction where a terrible person ends up getting amnesia, which causes them to become an entirely different person - specifically a *good* one - and is actively upset when they start remembering who they used to be.

It's almost as if some people *should* get amnesia...

Again, I *don't* give a shit how many in-universe explanations you can cite because, at the end of the day, it's creatives conceiving excuses for something incongruent in ways that can be countered by pointing out *other* things within the setting.

It's Art, not a *fucking* historical account.

I find it annoying, when commenting on X-Men, is how quickly fandom will use Thermian Logic to "prove" that it makes sense that, in a world filled with a variety of superpowered people - some of whom are popular - for Mutants to *still* be an oppressed group.

I'm talking *context*, not content.

I've already brought up the problems I have with the bigotry metaphor, as have others, so I'm going with my next big one: I think Mutants should exist in a tangent timeline separate from the 616, as the only superpowered people on the planet.

No, I don't give a shit about in-universe explanations.

What's an opinion about X-Men that'll get you sent to jail? Is Jean really interesting or really boring? Should Logan have stayed dead? Do you think a certain x-mens outfit is positively horrendous even though people seem to love it?

The Brood Saga is better than Dark Phoenix imo 🤷

...are they aware he's into catboys and would only marry a 16-year-old girl?

If I was born a woman, the very sight of him would make me drier than a mummy, then cause my vadge to instinctively seal itself and produce dentata as a form of protection.

I prefer it when Fae/Fairies are shown to be utter bastards who have no problem kidnapping children, along with playing sadistic games on humans out of boredom and spite, rather than just cutesy and winged miniature humanoids.

That's why A Midsummer Night's Dream is the best Shakespeare play...😏

Evolutionary psychology!!! “Neanderthals, whose lives we know literally nothing about except that they were wildly different from ours, had a sexed division of labor in my evidence-free fantasy about them, which is why you shouldn’t get subsidized childcare.”
