SNAP isn't about "people who don't work." It's about people who don't get paid enough to live.

Of the 40 or so million people who rely on food stamps:

* Two-thirds are children, seniors, or disabled

* Most working-age adults who receive SNAP are employed—but in jobs that pay poverty wages

An underrated storyline in 9 days: Youngkin has made it so people lose their voting rights for life for any felony at present. A Dem proposal that’s started advancing to restore voting rights hinges on Dems keeping the state House
Virginia Senator Scott Surovell says it’s offensive that his state makes people “get on their hands and knees and beg the governor” for their voting rights. He's championed automatic rights restoration for people released from prison.

The measure’s fate likely hinges on this fall’s legislative races: Lawmakers will need to pass it again next year. In the meantime, Glenn Youngkin’s harsh restrictions remain in place.

If Dems win the Supreme Court races in Pennsylvania in 9 days, it’s extremely likely the GOP can’t get a majority on that court until 2029.

The GOP really wants to have this majority during the 2028 presidential race.
