I like good food, good wine, and really really bad 80's pop music. There are other things about me, but you'd find them even less interesting.

I find it interesting that the surveillance state showed up as a bunch of name brand products and we didn't just welcome it... we paid top dollar for it. Then the stuff we bought turned around and *sold us* to advertisers, the government, and other corporations.

OTR does some amazing food history documentaries on their YouTube channel. The ones for noodles and sugar are especially important meditations on how food has shaped the human experience throughout history. Really well done stuff.

My favorite performance of Curry's was as the devil-demon Darkness in Legend, which is far from saying that was the best movie he was in. It was like watching two different flicks depending on if he was in the scene or not.

"We are all animals, my lady."

Sorry, but I only accept movie trailers into my heart that start with Don LaFontaine belting out "In a world..."

“Why is the night sky dark, if we live in an infinite universe?”

Kepler, Halley, and Cheseaux all pondered this apparent paradox, but the question is commonly attributed to Heinrich Olbers, who was born #OTD in 1758. 🧪 🔭

A diagram shows arrows radiating from a central point, indicating directions, with lots of white disks (stars) surrounding the central point. An etching of Hans Olbers. He wears a heavy coat, vest, and high collared white shirt. His wispy hair is receding.

Difference, I don't know... I'm not the greatest "noticer of things," ya know?

I will say that your Autumn Fashion art piece really impressed me with how well the feel of the fabrics were conveyed through your work. The textures, I guess.

I'm not saying that I'm good at holding a grudge, but I'm still mad at Gene Simmons for that Terry Gross interview.

I'm also still upset that record execs turned the Heart that gave us the GOAT "Barracuda" into the band that did (the decidedly less stellar) "All I Want to Do Is Make Love to You."

I watched Krull on opening weekend at The Crump Theater in Columbus, IN. A fun time was had. I miss that place.

The "benevolent white master" myth is the direct antecedent to saying a person of color should "show more gratitude for what this country has provided them."

It's not a dog whistle. It's raw racism put on display without shame or fear of consequence.
A tweet from JD Vance saying Joy Reid would be happier if she "showed a little gratitude"

I've enjoyed the game out of the gate. The gunplay feels about right and the vehicles feel more balanced than in beta. All I've ever wanted from the BF franchise since BF4 was an updated BF4. My wait is over.

Bummer that EA got bought by evil assholes, though.

That far right one does seem like a bit of a stretch. [Double entendre where neither entendre is about sex smugness]

It's OK... I hate me too.

The second from the left has very strong "Shantae but it's, like, October and I'm just going to hang out instead of fighting pirates or weird mermaids and shit for a while."

They're all cool, but if I had to pick my fav autumnal outfit from the four, it'd be that one. It's really excellent work.
