We’ve had rain since Monday. The dogs are sick of it! The ducks however, are well pleased.

I’d like some sun to dry out the driveway…but after two months of barely any rain, I’ll take a soggy driveway of my aquifers are replenished…eventually, I know. gotta start somewhere.

I really think she struggles to see in shadows. Farm vet is coming out soon and ill ask her about Troodi’s eyesight.

Troodi has taken a step back when it’s dark or dusk out. She doesn’t want to come inside the cabin while I’m in the cabin. So I walk outside with my hands up, then off to the side and turn away so she feels safe. Once she goes into her kennel, I walk in and give her a dog treat.

I get that hunting is a thing. Don’t love it, but it happens every year. What I really hate though, are the assholes who break the hunting laws. Today I drove past the skin and head of a doe in the middle of the road. The law on leaving the head intact until the body reaches the processor…

what she needs to feel safe is what she needs…

it’s just weird that growth and regression are both necessary, simultaneous, conflicting, and unpredictable and how true that everywhere in life

We have been in a drought situation here for the last 2-3 months, despite having a Super wet spring and early summer. As i type this we are finally getting some significant rain after weeks of pleading to mother nature.
But at the same time, I’m hoping for less rain for Jamaica and Haiti.
