hey quick question: why did you grant anonymity to a source whose identity is already published and easily accessible? was it because he's an avowed eugenicist and white supremacist? or simply because you're a moron?

Check out our new paper in Science Advances!

We show that Vesta’s giant equatorial troughs—Divalia Fossae—likely formed from spin axis reorientation and despinning as a long-term consequence of the two massive impacts near the south poles. 🪨⚒️

Reorientation and despinning of 4 Vesta formed the Divalia Fossae
The Divalia Fossae are formed by tectonic stresses from reorientation and despinning of Vesta caused by large impacts.

I strongly believe in a true abundance agenda:

-Open borders (goods + people)
-UBI funded by land value taxes
-Zoning Reform
-Gov't investment in renewable energy

I think this agenda could make the country more prosperous with minimal market disruption/redistribution

It polls at probably 12%

Please don’t use my friend’s name to make this point in this way, especially inaccurately. He was *not* sentenced. And the JSTOR articles he wanted people to have unfettered access to, including for purposes of machine learning analysis, are also copyrighted material. You can just critique OpenAI.

Love getting the exact same baseless arguments I’ve heard a billion times regurgitated at me. Did you know ai will use 69% of all electricity and bajillion gallons of water?

Unrelated here’s a vid of a guy running deepseek on a raspi/w7700 (under 200w power consumption!) youtu.be/o1sN1lB76EA?...

When I lived in Beijing circa 2019, the only thing Beijingers wanted to talk about with a white guy who spoke mandarin was the trade war, which to me at the time felt like small potatoes. I wonder what they are thinking now.

So, first: I hope no one was hurt.

That serious thing said...

That's definitely warpfire and y'all need to get folks down there to check for a Skaven undercity, like, yesterday or you're going to be neck-deep in clanrats in like, a week, tops.
#BREAKING: Yellow and Green fire was seen exploding out of a manhole at Texas Tech University moments ago.

Evacuations are underway for the whole campus.

Dems have been telling this noble lie forever that free trade hasn’t been beneficial to the vast majority of Americans and Trump has forced them to acknowledge how they’ve been lying through their teeth this whole time lol

It’s also a problem that large swaths of the left (esp online) advocated for full employment type policy, got it (from both electeds *and* the Federal freakin’ Reserve), and then spent two years screeching about how bad it was. Unforgivably bad political messaging.

very good section in Tom Ricks' civil rights history on this. MLK et al saw that the media reacted 10000% more to white activists getting the exact same beatings as Black ones, and were like "man, that is incredibly racist. now, get those white folks up front, right next to the cops"
a lot of the railing about "respectability politics" has ignored the power of forcing your enemies to desecrate something the public values

US wealth inequality very meaningfully declined through the last 5 years but it was in no small part a direct consequence of the wage-cost differential shifts you're mad about. workers wage gains and deflation *categorically* cannot coexist.

the tech chuds are so used to doing rails that they're gonna get their entire faces onto the third one
Andressen's argument is that if people really understood govt programs like Social Security - the way that tech billionaires who don't understand govt do - they would not support them. And the billionaires will use social media to make the public understand these programs the way they do.
