#Israel kills Palestinians in Gaza and has announced it will not abide by the terms for facilitating humanitarian aid, despite the #ceasefire agreement. This is reported by various news sites. Nothing on Australia's ABC News re this. Do they have a blanket rule: no negative reports re Israel? #Gaza

CS Lewis was the JK Rowling of his time. He's a racist, homophobic, misogynist (not original but I will die on this hill)

Terrance Dicks is one the best ever science fiction writers

the final book of the Gormenghast trilogy ruins it.

Normal People and Norwegian Wood are the same book.

Love in the time of Cholera is so clearly a horror story.

Brideshead Revisited is trash, especially when you realize At Swim Two Birds was published six years earlier.

If you know basic kabbalah it's actually not too hard to make a golem out of a labubu. Don't recommend it though. They have a pre-existing body-dharma. As soon as they wake they run straight for the sea. V hard to counter. Lost the first one. No idea what it's doing out there. Moved like lightning.

Psst:

A reminder for American writers: High tea is not fancier tea, it’s supper. It’s a more substantial meal with a main dish, rather than tea, biscuits, scones, little snack foods. And it’s high because it’s served on a high table — dining table height — not a low, tea or coffee table.

A 13-year-old boy was arrested by Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents in Everett after an interaction with members of the Everett Police Department and sent to a juvenile detention facility in Virginia, according to his mother and immigration lawyer Andrew Lattarulo.

The boy’s mother, Josiele Berto, was called to pick her son up from the Everett Police Department on Thursday, the day he was arrested. After waiting for about an hour and a half, she was told her son was taken by ICE, Berto told the Globe in a phone interview.

“My world collapsed,” Berto said in Portuguese.

From the police department, the boy was taken to ICE’s holding facility in Burlington on Thursday evening, where he spent a night before being transferred by car to the Northwestern Regional Juvenile Detention Center in Winchester, Va., on Friday morning, his mother said. The juvenile facility is more than 500 miles away from Everett.

The boy is a 7th-grader at Albert N. Parlin School in Everett, his mother said. The teen and his family, who are Brazilian nationals, have a pending asylum case and are authorized to work legally in the United States, Lattarulo said.

you can put together a double of good bits from their whole career, but you could also just get Here Come The Warm Jets and you'd probably be better off anyway.

yeah, it's an awful, awful moment - and it captures a really vile aspect of Australia as a colonial country.

THIS THING IS UTTERLY INCREDIBLE.

coming in from the colony here, I love this film, it remains terrifyingly relevant. I live a long way from the desert/outback regions, but the people are so very accurate. Also, the kangaroo hunt is horrific - and it still happens. There is a culture of hunting that is utterly monstrous.
