Russian state tv is propagandizing this idea all over the place:

“Perhaps Russia and the United States will decide the fate of Europe without it. This is a very possible prospect”

The Deep State is a conspiracy theory.

I know we all find Truss amusing, but I find it deeply concerning that you've got an actual former Prime Minister even saying this stuff.

Hot dang this video essay hits hard, is well researched, and aligns so well with what I think ails this world.

I feel that now, more than ever, solidarity of the 99% will truly be one of the few things that can fix this absolute mess of a techno feudal-ish world.

This is the most ridiculous foreign policy document I ever read. An I read many of those.

Not loving how this document all but states outright that the United States wants to help AfD and Rassemblement National gain control of their respective national governments.

It's a Verwoerdist International coming into form.

20 years for Europe to become completely unrecognizable?

They probably based that number estimate on America post-9/11, I guess. 🤷‍♂️
US national security strategy.
Something sure is unrecognisable here, but it’s not Europe.

If Europe (except far right populists) thinks we can still rely on the US as an ally, the new NSS should disabuse them. No criticism of Russia, but hostility to the EU. And “Managing European relations with Russia will require significant US diplomatic engagement”, rather than military pushback!

Kinda insane to look at the economic development of the last year or two and then watch car manufacturers coming back into F1 left and right.

I guess it speaks for F1’s new (well, not _that_ new anymore) owners to have managed to push F1 to such new heights.
Haas just pulled off the biggest coup in recent #F1 history. Toyota has officially announced its return to #Formula1; its name back on the entry list for the first time in 16 years...but there's more than just a name.

The team has so much more than the name...

The only reason the Minsk agreements were needed was cos Russia wouldn't follow

UN Charter 45
Nuclear NPT 70
Helsinki Accords 75
Paris Charter 90
Belovezha Accords 92
Budapest Memo 94
Black Sea Fleet Treaty 97
Friendship Treaty 98
Treaty on Azov Sea & Kerch Strait ‘03
Karkiv pact 10

And others.
And remember the Minsk agreements made Russia promise to respect borders
OTD in 2009 Russia reaffirmed commitment to the Budapest Memorandum signed 15 years previously.

Which is why you can trust us on the "peace deal" now proposed.

I’ve said for some years now that whether the 2035 ICE ban remains or not is largely irrelevant - to electrification. I don’t believe many would buy new ICE cars anyway.

But it may decide whether even some of the cars sold will be European, or at most rebranded Chinese.
The shift to EVs is happening—fast. Manufacturers can either embrace the long-term transition or chase short-term gains by clinging to petrol and diesel.

China is choosing the long view. Many in Europe aren’t. The risk? Ending up with cars no one wants, lost market share, and shuttered factories.

The fact that a second strike like that in an armed conflict is definitely a war crime should not completely negate the fact that *there is no war* and ALL the strikes are cold-blooded murder. The whole chain of command are murderers.

Vibe of other European governments vs. vibe of Ukrainians.

You do not need to agree with evil, this is how evil works. You need to confront it and stop it. European governments act pathetic and weak. The result of this weakness is WW3…

One myth that's pissing me off is the people saying Anthropic is somehow "more efficient" than OpenAI - it's raised about the same amount ($16.5 billion) as OpenAI has ($18.3 billion) this year so far! An utter farce of journalism

Anyone thought about making EU visas for russians cost €5000 per annum, yet? Maybe €25000 for “diplomats”?

Quite breathtaking story - military grade drones at Dublin airport which flew on the path Zelensky's plane took. The drones reached the flight path of his plane exactly the time it should have been there, but just missed it because Zelensky arrived ahead of schedule:
Four unidentified military-style drones breached no-fly zone to target Zelenskyy's arrival in Dublin
Gardaí are investigating whether the drones took off from land in Dublin or from an undetected ship.
