Tucson residents fought back against Amazon’s secretive plans to build a data center in the desert — and won.

But now, in a blatant attempt to override the City Council and the will of the people, Amazon and the project’s developer is pushing ahead anyway.

Robert Altman's 'The Long Goodbye' wasn't dreck, but it was a flop on the West Coast, where it had a more traditionally noirish poster—so when it moved to the East Coast a few months later (as US-wide saturation releases were still a couple of years away), they hired Davis to revamp the poster.

Happy birthday to the incomparable Jack Davis!

One of EC's mainstays, and the artist on the infamous "Foul Play" from Haunt of Fear in 1953. This one sent Dr. Wertham into a rage.

In the 1960s & 70s Davis became one of the most sought after magazine cover illustrators. I used to collect them!

Today is the 70th anniversary of Rosa Parks' arrest. Six myths: 1) She wasn't old or tired. 42 years old that day, she had a "life history of being rebellious" & had spent two decades helping to turn the Montgomery NAACP into a more activist branch alongside ED Nixon and Johnnie Carr.
