I say this as someone whose entire job is finding the narrow use cases in which AI is actually useful:
All the fear about AI, all the reluctance to adopt it, is entirely legitimate, and a product of the fact that it's been foisted on the public with no consideration of its negative externalities.

When I had shingles and was lying awake in pain, one of the things I focused on was that my godkids and niblings got chickenpox vaccine rather than chickenpox, so they don't have varicella hanging around their bodies waiting to reactivate at the worst time of their life.

I love the purple metallic sheen on this blue ink. It's great to see what visual artists are doing with these inks, but I'm a word girl, so I'm especially appreciative of inks that show off their tricks even with a relatively fine nib. This one's very satisfying.

Ursula is all prairie prairie prairie here but these grasses are indigenous to much of North America and there are so many more native perennial grasses that will ALSO grow these huge root systems! STOP PLANTING INVASIVE EURASIAN GRASSES stop having lawns rewild every inch of your property

I took care of numerous kids with fulminant hepatitis B in the 90s before the switch to getting the first vaccine at birth. I don’t recall having one since. I do not miss caring for that disease.

First night of #Nutcracker Tech Week. Younger Kid went from playing Fritz (Clara's bratty little brother) last year to doing five lifts as a member of the adult company. Older Kid is obsessed with building muscle to improve his lifts. It turns out that #Ballet Gym Bro is a genre of guy. Who knew?
