In other news, the whole thing about Calibri v. TNR isn't about a font face, it's about the fact that Calibri is easier for people with some disabilities to read.

They think any accommodation, however painless, should stop.

ICE is kidnapping and locking up little kids, denying them medical care, and feeding them contaminated food.

They aren’t going after criminals, they are going after Black and brown people, because this isn’t about immigration, it’s about white supremacy.
About 400 immigrant children were detained longer than the recommended limit, ICE admits
Legal advocates concerned over the prolonged detention of immigrant children in federal custody are sounding the alarm before the federal court. U.S.

Rep. Thanedar has filed two articles of impeachment against Hegseth, one for "murder and conspiracy to murder" and the other for "reckless and unlawful mishandling of classified information." 🧵

(Full disclosure: I was happy to consult a bit on drafting this.)

I saw an ICE raid today in Cedar-Riverside. The man they took said repeatedly he was a U.S. Citizen and had ID. They put him in a car they sped off at an unsafe speed. Not that I expected much, but I called 911 and reported their behavior. The dispatcher asked "what I wanted them to do about it."

Just witnessed an ICE raid in Minneapolis. 2 people kidnapped. 2 near pedestrian hit and runs by reckless ICE drivers at the corner of Cedar Ave & Riverside.

Outraged and Ashamed - at my country's lack of leadership.

Grateful that no local law personnel contributed to those crimes.

MPD doesn't need another $38 million for yet another new building. Plowing sidewalks and traffic calming much better use of this money and will actually keep people safe.
🏆 Council Member Robin Wonsley has earned the Transportation Budget MVP award for amendments funding sidewalk snow clearance pilots, $2.3m for ADA ramp construction, $2.5m for traffic safety improvements, & $700k for protected bikeways.

the idea that a handful of conservative legal scholars have an understanding that should supersede a settlement affirmed my generations of american is astoundingly arrogant, and the idea that trump — or any president — can unilaterally overturn that settlement is just despotism

Given their vulnerability to falls, you’d think the city’s senior residents would enthusiastically support municipal sidewalk plowing (but my conversations with legacy members of the DFL Senior Caucus prove otherwise)

I appreciate the councilmembers who are promoting walkability for all
On Friday, City Council voted to undo Mayor Frey’s cuts to our sidewalk plowing pilots because the return of winter shouldn’t mean risking slips and falls on icy sidewalks every time it snows. Safely getting around our city should be a basic function of our government.

The issue with Neoliberalism isn't that it doesn't work, it's that it only works once. You can sell the family silver once, you can strip the copper out of the walls once, you can burn the furniture to keep warm once. But then you have to come up with something else!

MINNEAPOLIS - TODAY

This is urgent & a huge opportunity to draw public attention to demand our city & Target to stand with immigrant communities.

If you've seen folks talking about how quiet & empty Cedar-Riverside &c have been in the last 48 hours & are moved by that, find a way to show up.
from UNIDOS:
Press conf TODAY Thu, Dec 4
@ 2:30pm @ Target on Lake St in the midst of this attack on Somali community, to demand Target prohibit use of property for ICE staging, & ask people demand a stronger separation ordinance of the mayor & city council. It should be about a 30-60 min event.

Pete Hegseth Should Be Charged With Murder
No matter how you look at the strikes on alleged “drug boats”—as acts of war or attacks on civilians—Hegseth has committed a crime and should be prosecuted.
