Spoke with a source who told me the call volume is so high, a call center for both Mastercard & Visa is bringing out pizza and ice cream so agents don’t quite amid the rush. Long waits are causing dropped calls.

If you're a writer on deadline to write a food vendor and it feels boring or unimportant, that's when you put on your Big Game Writer Pants and make the food vendor's dialogue a sneaky reference to the Chicks' "Goodbye, Earl," LIKE A PROFESSIONAL.
i take frenzy damage every time i see someone go "well i just use it for the boring stuff". what are you TALKING about? if it's boring or unimportant, why are you putting it in? NPC dialogue is fertile ground for worldbuilding, creating verisimilitude, conveying important information, and hijinks!!
Buy a solo indie dev's game because I want to support them.

I see some book piracy discourse, and, to make a positive argument in favor of buying books, your marginal ability to influence what books get published and support the careers of writers you like is massive compared to most other forms of media.

That conversation also reminded me that recently Ivwas convinced my childhood asthma had returned, to the pointvof getting a rescue inhaler for the first time in my life.
Turns out - nope! It was just Florida. I have not had a single instance of chest tightness since moving north.

Like - even if you disregarded the politics and "Florida man" of it all, words increasingly cannot express the unlivable heat!! It is its own form of hell just as much as the cold is here!!

This is actually relatively new (existed all my lifetime tho) and was a batshit response to THE RED SCARE of Communism.
And yes, it's a creepy loyalty oath for kids that we shouldn't do. It also contains religious references which should be illegal. It's been challenged in court maaaaany times.
