A new episode of the Medici Podcast! Ferdinando II had high hopes that marrying his introverted, overly devout son to a French princess would both loosen his son up and save the dynasty from extinction. Things wouldn’t turn out quite like he wanted.

"You have no eye for fashion!" "I HAVE NO EYE FOR FASHION?!?!?!?!"
Tonight's movie is the Linda Blair classic...er, not that one, but HELL NIGHT!
Yeah, it was someone who'd never actually watched the show before. If they had it would be easier to put up with, ha.
I did mute someone just because they made a bitchy post about DOCTOR WHO simply existing.

pretty funny how janet mills gets in the race because graham platner was doing TOO well and all this tepid boring nothing burger oppo research comes out like 2 days later, establishment dems are really scared of platner
After watching FRANKENHOOKER I realized I never saw Frank Henenlotter's other early film BRAIN DAMAGE, so that's tonight's film!
By fucking Wal-Mart, no less :(.
Well there are the ones who are just sociopaths and bigots and the ones who are simply willfully and terminally ignorant, so I suppose to that extent I agree.
"So are you all going to do anything to make it easier to afford pregnancy, birth, and child-related health expenses?"
"No."
"Any laws on parental leave or sick days?"
"No."
"Anything to help working moms?"
"Lol no."
I've been seeing one parked at my work place and it's honestly kind of shocking. Of course I've noticed there's a few weird, large discolorations on it.
It genuinely looks like some media companies are less tolerant of distance work especially by writers than they were even in the 1970s.
Given how bad Windows 11 is supposed to be I've been looking at alternatives and seeing Linux evangelists unironically saying things like "Linux isn't hard, you just need to read an intro book" or "You only need to practice for an hour a day for a month to get the basics!"
My first rule to looking up tech advice is that if someone uses words like "powerful" to describe how something does what should be a basic computer function I should disregard everything they say and also dedicate my life to destroying them and everything they love.

Day 59 of trying to be hired by Andrew Cuomo
Please don't make me have to use Linux. Having to use time I could have spent on improving my French or Italian or working on my book on instead relearning basic tech bullshit might cause me to snap.
I might have to as well depending on if the AI is as intrusive as some are saying. So I'm bracing myself to seeing comments from nerds like "Linux isn't difficult, it's different!" as I spend hours trying to figure out how to download and install a program.
It was a joke, which again should have been obvious.
Roberts, Thomas, Alito, Barrett, and Kavanagh are all Catholic.
Which is the religion shared by the reactionary majority on the Supreme Court, hence my comment obviously.
Can they also get rid of the Opus Dei chapter pretending to be our Supreme Court?
I mean I am skeptical that truly deeply rooted systemic justice can ever be truly fixed without some degree of violence, but even I'll admit these tactics have been really effective against the regime so far.
I take a...somewhat different stance on resistance tactics and violence than some prominent voices on here, but even I can't deny that the Portland strategy has been effective and so far disruptive to the narrative the regime wants to build.
