He should be aware of his own personal safety and take steps to be as safe as possible at all times.
Great visit to 11 North Great George's Street for OpenHouse. If you get a chance go to see a lovely restored (but lived in) Georgian gem.

Now down a rabbit hole researching the Mount Eccles estate that was here (not Gardiner land as I always assumed)...

To create joined up services, government must fix the data plumbing: establishing shared standards, infrastructure and governance across the system.

The UK Government's proposed National Data Library can drive this quiet revolution.

Irony is fucking dead
Whatever you say, Mac. Lazy, reactionary stances on complex issues it is, so!
Sorry getting confused - head fried from address data!!!
No shade on the authors who have done a lot to raise the issue but there are a bunch of assumptions in this article. The datasets that underpin property in Ireland are not in good shape. Data stories team at UCD have published some good work on this.
This rings very true. GAA has been hugely positive for my own kids but I know they are lucky being in a big club that has space for kids of all backgrounds and abilities. Even then the relentlessness of it does close off kids to other experiences.
GAA exceptionalism has definitely been due a peg-lowering.

The phrase "centrist rugby Dad" speaks to a fantasy where GAA is this benignly egalitarian, progressive and welcoming space. This is not everyone's experience but good luck to them if they say so.

Malachy Clerkin: The Jim Gavin fiasco was a long overdue humbling for GAA exceptionalism

My boss: so how's our fourth quarter looking?

It's a good reminder that these aren't functions of public vs. private sector but manifestations of the deeper logic that is at work. e.g. 20th century institutional forms/managerial philosophies, plus a few decades of accretion / calcification (technical and management debt, etc.). 2/n

One thing that's interesting interacting with big banks is that they essentially replicate 100% of the logic and qualities of public sector bureaucracy (the need to taxonomise, sharply demarcated silos/domains of competence, complete inability to tailor, diffusion of moral agency, etc.) 1//n

I was passing there recently and thought what a pity it was that the hotel owned the space under the colonnade.
They don’t!
They're stealing it!
That new public colonnade on Liffey Street Upper? Motel One wants to close it off, a slap in the face for those who value public space. Here’s my Planning Observation, feel free to write your own: bit.ly/CufULS

Today is a day when arts degrees are worthless, but the product of those degrees is so valuable it would kill an entire industry if they were made to pay for it.

Yesss!! MetroLink has been approved by An Coimisiún Pleanála after three years in the planning process. 🥳 Still awaiting details and if any modifications were made. More later today.

I continue to think that one of the reasons this country is falling apart is the wholesale abandonment of public virtue as a broadly shared aspiration. Or even something people should be embarrassed about if they don’t have it.

The saying 'don't let facts get in the way of a good story' often comes to mind when I hear the Irish gov. telling stories about how sustainable our agri system is & how committed they are to environmental action.

No surprises here for anyone paying attention.

You can’t *just* armchair give out about things. At a certain point you need to actually create some value, some change, some impact. Instead of just shouting we are all terrible all of the time.

Looking forward to seeing you out on streets pushing for change rather than just writing about it.
The entire public sector would be better served if politicians understood the current procurement model better.
If the only lesson that politicians learn from the Very Expensive Bike Shed Story is "don't build any bike sheds ever", then that's a disaster.

This is significantly lower in planned cost, and the tender hasn't even been awarded yet.
Sinn Féin has called for a tender for a new €100,000 bike shed at the National Maternity Hospital to be scrapped.

For context. The spire is 120 metres tall. Some mad bastards done a serious job here. And the weekend all the Americans are in town for their stupid football game. Maith thú whoever you are. #Speirgorm
