tl:dr - rich c*nt whines about having to put his hand in his pocket and hand over what is to him effectively loose change
Wow - this guy must be really, REALLY bad with money if an extra £208 per month will “ruin” his retirement.

Let’s take a look at his situation based on what he told the @Telegraph

Because this does NOT add up!

No, this is not a “poor pensioner” scrabbling around for pennies…

1000% this. Our reaction speed physically decreases with each passing year. So as I'm not longer 20 year old me, I now hate parrying in all games..

..EXCEPT FOR Doom: TDA with its combo of parry window slider + game speed slider. I actually have the intended experience in that game.
#gamedev
Settings to let people adjust the timing on parry is a good idea. Some people love this mechanic and some people can’t do the quick time event type of precise timing for the mechanic.

The easiest way to set up closed captions is with this plug-in for OBS! Once you've installed it, it'll automatically live caption for you.

Unlike using the closed captions overlays available through Twitch, you don't need to boot up a website every time you stream so one less thing to remember 💖

My biggest accessibility criticism was that the mini-games lacked alternate controls or the option to skip them. Some were skippable, but not the first instance of most of the mini-games. Also, remapping Navigation controls to the D-Pad is huge too. Lastly, not getting lost when chasing animals is 👍

I couldn’t play games because they weren’t designed for deaf & disabled folks. Got cranky about it. Somehow turned that into a career. Now I’m EA’s Accessibility Director.

Walmart and McDonald’s are among the top employers of workers who rely on food stamps.

McDonald's CEO raked in $18.2M last year — over 1,000x the company's median employee pay.

Walmart's CEO pocketed $27.4M — 930x the company's median employee pay.

See the problem?

The comment section here is super interesting.

For once it's not just the #gamedev bubble discussing amongst ourselves, but players chiming in about disliked mechanics/features as well.

Worth a scroll and to note that there is a sizable video game audience on Bluesky by now.

Bonus point for making the experience of cancelling a subscription a game of: "search for the real Cancel button on every pages of a 5 step process to get you to accidentally click on the more obvious and highlighted Resubscribe button".

I seriously don't know what these UI/UX designers are doing.
is there a reason why every single paid streaming service UI has only gotten incredibly worse and less usable over time

Alt-text of image:
Delete one thing from video games.

My one thing:
Any game text under 42 pixels high.
(Some devs insist on using tiny text (some text only 8-10 pixels high!) just because they “need to fit as much info on screen as possible.” 🫤)

Reminder that any encrypted chat is only as safe as the people in it.

This article deeply implies that the FBI had an informant inside the group, potentially even the creator of the group itself.

I will say it again:

No encryption is safe against adding the Editor-in-Chief of The Atlantic.
The FBI accessed and spied on a Signal group chat that was organizing immigrant “court watch” efforts in NYC.

I feel like this should be bigger news.

You aren’t supposed to be able to spy on Signal chats.

Were they invited? How did they get access? Was there a warrant?

An interesting* way to provide a pedestrian crossing point at roadworks. 🤔
Looks like the footway is narrowed/obstructed further up too.

*There should be barriers closing the footway at the crossing point, rather than further on.
Ah! So there is method to their madness. This sign appeared today 🤣
