this little mixup/misstatement is extra maddening coming from cms, the agency that wants documentation of things like the specific number of minutes of therapy vs minutes of medical management time in a psychiatry note

Update: This story has been updated to show that CMS has reversed its earlier statement indicating that it would pause all Medicare payments to physicians.
The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services said late Wednesday that it was not pausing all Medicare payments to doctors, after a statement earlier in the day stated it would.

300 evacuees from Kipnuk and Kwigillingok departed on a C-17 military plane from Bethel to Anchorage today to shelter there.

Roughly 500 people have been evacuated from those two villages so far, the remaining 200 are sheltering in Bethel tonight. More flights will go out tomorrow

This is the Western Alaska animal nonprofit working to rescue the pets in Kipnuk.

The residents of Kipnuk are under a mandatory evac order but can not bring their pets with them. Supporting this group will help with charter aircraft, etc.
