These are relatively rare examples of female representation where a woman doesn't exist solely to nurture or protect a man or a child. Contrast with Sue Storm from the recent Fantastic Four, as @jessiegender.bsky.social was discussing last night.
I feel that hating these characters is a red flag.
Not saying that you have to like any of them or can't criticize them, but let's be honest, so much of the hate for these characters is based on misogyny as you know that white male characters like them never get criticized as much as them.

The woman yelling at the ICE officer from behind the counter is fake. We don't need to use AI to show people standing up to fascism. There is tons of real video already doing that. You don't defeat fascism by using its own tools against its victims.

I've watched enough streams of the Caspian Explorer to know I'm going to want to fly one on Tuesday when it releases. A ship that gets 70+ light-years while carrying ship-launched fighter bays and SRV bays? Yes, please! And the canopy view is amazing.

We talk of refusing unlawful orders, but really that's a very high bar. It's only for orders that are manifestly unlawful, something *obviously* illegal on the face of it. And the core example of that is refusing an order to wantonly murder noncombatants, which is exactly what they are doing.
Oddly enough, in media coverage of Dems' video warning against carrying out illegal orders, there's very little discussion of *whether it's actually reasonable to fear Trump is giving illegal commands or not.*
