Hivemind! @seananmcguire.bsky.social wants to know where this wallpaper comes from.
A repeating print of white alligators with pink and blue spots on a background of orange and yellow leaves.

The most annoying thing about the AI bubble is we can all see it happening, we all know it’s going to burst and we all know what the consequences will be. Everyone except apparently, Big Tech and the government.

The biggest priority is to flatten Reform in the polls.
Bury them under an electoral landslide from which they will never recover.
They are the biggest threat to Britain and our nations since the Second World War.

The use of AI to marionette a woman whose tortured existence was spent trying to carve her own life and identity out of the space men forced her into is both damningly macabre and a surprisingly perfect encapsulation of the problems with this ghoulish use of technology.

It really costs you nothing to be comfortable in the knowledge that you are imperfect, and will make mistakes, because then when you do the thing that will happen no matter whether you have previously allowed for it, you can just say oh my bad, yeah, dick move.

And fix it and move on.

Now that Autumn is here and leaves are dying, and the moss and mushrooms are thriving, it's your time at last.
Get out there, hold your head high, and show the world the true beauty of natural decay.

I love sports.
My favorite sport is summoning moss ghouls from their loamy tombs and watching them chase townsfolk through starlit meadows, wreathed in eldritch smoke and madness.

across – many have tragically tried. The river’s power here is immense, carving deep unseen chasms and deadly undertows, making the Strid one of the most dangerous places in Britain’s waterways. Image r_lizzimore CC BY-NC-ND 2.0

The Strid, near Bolton Abbey is a dramatic, narrow stretch of the River Wharfe where the broad river squeezes into a tight, moss-covered channel. It looks deceptively peaceful, but beneath the surface the water surges with astonishing force. The banks seem close enough to leap

After 110 years on Cornmarket, stationery shop W.H. Smith has been rebranded T.G. Jones – a name invented by investment company Modella Capital, which acquired the high street shops in June. The Abingdon branch was renamed in August. www.oxfordhistory.org.uk/cornmarket/e...

One of the things the fash want is the right to declare what is beautiful.

They don’t get to.

I also love seeing “amateurish” things. I love watching people try new art forms. I love it when adults try things we usually reserve for young learners, because we don’t stop learning when we graduate.

Art means anything creative, by the way. You can felt cat hair and I’ll be pulling for you right now. If you made it yourself, it’s real art.

(It’s not art if it’s AI.)

Do not ever apologize for sharing your art, even when world events are awful.

I know I still feel badly about it, but think of what you’d tell a friend. You’d tell them to share their joy, right?
