The internet was built by and for autistic people to argue with each other about whether vi or emacs is better.

Any other use case is a perversion of this original intent and leads to disaster.

This is why I wore body armor and brought a gas mask to the last one. A protest's a protest and you can't predict when the pigs are gonna escalate, even if grandma shows up.

> Google "liberalism" and re-read the thread.

You strike me as deeply unserious and extremely online-poisoned so I don't plan to accept homework assignments from you.

I think this is a much more reasonable take than "NK isn't a real protest because liberalism".

What went down last time in Utah and LA are pretty good evidence of why their approach of cops and "volunteer security" only escalate dicey situations.

> It isn't about creating a large scale protest movement. It's about building a movement. And there is lots of that going on.

This feels like a distinction without a difference, and also doesn't explain why the NoKings mass organizing attempt doesn't count.

While this clearly is a confabulated event that the President may or may not believe actually happened, he clearly believes turning the military into a privately funded mercenary force is not a bad thing.

It's wild how far-lefties are underestimating the value of "boiling the frog" in terms of getting libs used to hitting the streets. This gets them used to it and more prepared and willing to participate in dicier protests down the line.

It also deprives MAGA of fodder for propaganda.

So if you aren’t a No Kings organizer or haven’t been in the Indivisible-activism type spaces, it can be simplistic to observe from the outside.

The fact is, since the election the vast majority of ppl in the activist space are older (50+) women, some men. Many ppl are 65+. I’ve been at protests

Okay, explain to me like I'm an extra-terrestrial that just landed here who doesn't understand when people just give snarky, pithy responses:

what would that functionally look like in terms of maintaining a large scale protest movement that's both accessible and efficacious?

Hi, I'm Caroline, and I used to work for Charlie Kirk and TPUSA. Over the past several years, I've grappled with how to reconcile my past political involvement with the state of politics now, but with the direction of U.S. politics, I truly cannot stay silent.

The wave of violence against ICE has been driven by online apps and social media campaigns designed to put ICE officers at risk just for doing their jobs. The Department of Justice will continue engaging tech companies to eliminate platforms where radicals can incite imminent violence against federal law enforcement.
