'peace eludes south Lebanon'
Yes, Lebanon just keeps misplacing its peace. How careless of it. It needs to keep its peace in a safe place so this doesn't keep happening.
BBC News: "Year after ceasefire, peace eludes south Lebanon as Israeli strikes continue"

So BBC News, is it, in fact, a ceasefire?

Could we please stop framing it as the "migration system"?

It's the asylum system that the rules relate to.

We need everyone to know that these new rules are being brought in so that we can be crueler to people who are already going through horrendous torment in their lives.
Minister for Justice Jim O'Callaghan has defended changes to the migration system, rejecting criticism that the tightening of rules is disproportionally focused on asylum seekers

i have a cost-saving idea, which is, bear with me: not to do a big investigation

The assault on the Death Star is so brilliant that I think Star Wars is the best movie in the series.
Rewatched the original Star Wars (A New Hope) today.

Obviously 'I love Star Wars' is baked in, but if you've not watched it in a while you can easily forget that the back half of that movie is some of the most genuinely thrilling stuff on film, back to back.

1977 must not have known what hit it.

worst forest/trees problem in generations is that a canto is A SECTION OF A LONG POEM. THAT'S IT. YOU DIDN'T WRITE A CANTO BECAUSE YOU THOUGHT THE WORD LOOKED COOL ON YOUR MEMOIR. CANTOS ARE POEMS. THAT LANGUAGE IS DYNAMIC DOES NOT MAKE YOUR SLAMBOOK A CANTO AMERICAN OR OTHERWISE

A truly extraordinary position by Judge Nolan

Who says he cannot find any culpability

Then goes on to identify the core culpability involved

Significantly over the speed limit & a failure to control your vehicle

If this was an "intentional" act

This would have been murder

Awful. This government sucks
Four months after it was promised, we finally have the government's transport investment plan between now and 2030. It's bad. Roads are in, public transport is out. A lot of public transport projects being put on the long-finger to make funding available for new roads.

I give a shit about multimillionaires and billionaires existing and not paying tax on their actual wealth.

If you live in Ireland, remember that in recent memory a single rugby-loving bank CEO cost the taxpayer more than every single welfare recipient in the state COMBINED. #SpeirGorm

* Astronauts in space have never eaten the product known as "astronaut ice cream." It's too crumbly and dangerous (you need to keep flying bits to an absolute minimum in zero-gravity with all those sensitive instruments around). "Astronaut ice cream" was created to sell in gift shops. Really.
