I hope your holiday is as sweet and cozy as these three bottle baby kittens purring on a blankie together (featuring Pyewacket, Cloud, and Nettle, who will all be ready to adopt next week).

Watched this movie the other night. It's great, and this review captures it beautifully. Has Ethan Hawke given the best movie performance (Blue Moon) and best TV series performance (The Lowdown) of the year? A strong case can be made.

i am not perplexed by kissing. it’s damn near the nicest thing you can do. what’s to understand
Animals have been kissing for over 17 million years, a new study suggests.

Kissing has long perplexed evolutionary biologists, given it has no obvious benefit to reproducing or finding food, while carrying the risk of disease transmission.
When was the first kiss? Over 17 million years ago, a study suggests.
Evolutionary biologists don’t know why we kiss — but new research suggests kissing evolved long before humans existed.

The markets are staying afloat right now on the hope that AI will destroy American workers. What a bleak thing.

Also, those of us who look after our elders see how (original) Medicare works for them, which tbh is pretty well.
Health care costs are starting to hit even the comfortably middle class with a bigger chunk of their paycheck going to insurance that covers less just as they age. Once a critical mass of people understood the math and stopped being scared of "higher taxes" this was inevitable
🚨NEW: A new poll Americans’ support for Medicare For All has intensified to the point where the old attacks may no longer work.

As both parties legislate criticism of socialism, there has been a 50-point shift on a key question in just 6 years.

This is YUGE.

I cannot recommend it enough.

I walked the entirety of costco, got my flu shot, and checked out in 45 minutes.
