Yes I wrote a whole book about this and you can preorder it but really I just want people to know, the universe is so fucking complicated that it takes this many people, from the poets finding all the different ways to use words to the astrobiologists working out how life happens and how often

My neighbor’s daughter is a middle school science teacher. She was teaching a lesson about weather with occasion to refer to the Gulf of Mexico. Her students SCREAMED at her that it’s the Gulf of America, now. We live in fucking MASSACHUSETTS. Can’t help but feel doomed.
