I've said this before and I intend to say it many more times: you are what you regularly do. Wanna be a better version of yourself? Incorporate growth in that direction every day (or as often as possible while still being healthy). Identity is in the daily practice, friends.

I need everybody to read this and understand what’s going on. These are spouses of US citizens in the country legally. They have entry clearance and green cards, they’ve passed background checks and have no criminal records. ICE is taking them anyway.

If your home page and landing pages doesn’t use language that you and your customers actually use, why did you do that?

If you read it aloud and it’s awkward, why did you do that?

There 𝘢𝘳𝘦 legit reasons… but is that really why you did that?

"Oh its only unimportant stuff" if its unimportant why do you have it in your game? If its important enough to include it is important enough to have a human write it.

"But I hate writing dialogue" cool, hire a writer. There's SO many of us looking for gigs like "write a bunch of NPC chatter"

If it's unimportant then don't include it. If it's necessary it's important and they should do their fucking jobs.
Buy a solo indie dev's game because I want to support them.

Find out it uses OpenAI to write "non-important NPC dialogue".

For a 10 year old, 5 years is 50% of their life. For a 40 year old, it's only 12.5%. For a 75 year old, it's only 6.6%.

This is why time seems to move faster the older you get, a year becomes a proportionately smaller percentage of your life over time. And why "a few years ago" expands into decades

It’s weird that there are people that still don’t believe in evolutionary theory period. It’s weirder that there are people that don’t believe in it that work on antibacterial drugs or have a domesticated animal as a pet

People keep saying that driverless cars will end congestion.

In reality, all driverless cars do is change the math so that instead of roads being jammed with cars with just 1-2 people in them, the roads will be jammed with cars with 0-1 people in them.

My meta-theory here is that Star Wars is about many things, but also, crucially, good and evil — and how good and evil *happen,* complexities and all.

That’s what makes it not just awesome/fun, but *useful.*

If there’s a through line in the Jack Canon, it’s an exploration of that dynamic.
The “Jack Canon” pan-medium SW order:

* ANH
* ROTJ
* ESB
* Andor
* R1
* Doctor Aphra omnibus
* Jedi: Fallen Order
* Solo
* Hunt for Jocasta Nu
* Thrawn trilogy
* Rebels
* Dark Forces
* The Mandalorian
* Clone Wars
* BoBF Ep5
* Prequels 3-in-1 fan edit
* Vader Immortal series
* Battlefront II (2017)

Engagement KPIs have been responsible for infinite scroll UI traps, RecSys radicalization spirals, public shame brigades, and basically every modern ailment novel to the past decade. At some point, you have to recognize that the problem isn't any one technology, it's the metric.
The company essentially turned a dial that made ChatGPT more appealing and made people use it more, but sent some of them into delusional spirals.

OpenAI has since made the chatbot safer, but that comes with a tradeoff: less usage.
