TL;DR: to stop Google from using your emails to train it's AI:
1. go to gmail settings general tab (first tab)
2. scroll down to Smart features and Google Workspace smart features.
3. Turn off Google Workspace first
4. Uncheck smart features

Just so it's clear. It's not allowing AI because it's trying to create a clean dataset for training AI. It's not because any of the involved parties actually care about human created art.

I really really wish more people understood how toxic AI is. It's not taking over menial work so the human experience can be enhanced. It's poorly replicating work people actually *like* doing at a cost that makes its poor quality worth it to C Suites.
