Quite contrary, terrible gardener. OhioU alum, rustbelter, consultant. I ❤️ dogs, baseball, stories, commas, and human rights. If empathy is a sin, then I’ll be damned.
The ironic thing is that conservative parents started pushing Boy Scouts to allow girls to participate because they felt Girl Scouts became too progressive (i.e. feminist and supportive of trans and NB kids).

Regardless, I can’t see this playing well with anyone except the most extreme MAGAs

Timeline cleanse. This is delightful. I love the background laughter of the people filming the dogs.

The History of the American Economy should be right up there with Econ and Accounting 101 for business majors.

Speaking of Econ 101, some people should really look into the sunk cost fallacy.
One explanation for economic populism in the US is the recurring cycle of bubbles and bailouts that happens without any democratic input

I figure Ken Burns has one, maybe two big documentary series in him before he fully retires. What do you think they should be? My votes include Football, Hip-Hop, World War 1, Reconstruction (though Skip Gates did this one well), Iraq/Afghanistan, 19th Century Expansionism.

I was recently diagnosed with uterine cancer. Very early stage

I am so lucky none of my docs/NPs dismissed me. Told me to lose weight. Told me random heavy bleeding was just peri. Told me to eat more protein/leafy veg/probiotics

Everyone’s reaction was “no, that’s not normal. Let’s look into that”
I had a point where walking left me in enormous pain. I went to one doctor whose main answer was "stop being fat" and just...didn't ask anyone else about it for a long time.

I tried so many things.

I think people my age and older forget, and people younger have no idea, but Bill Clinton was legendarily charismatic and charming. Not in a creepy way (although that def contributed to the womanizing). Many people talked about how he made you feel like the only person in the room
Mamdani seems like he has the Bill Clinton magic quality of being able to make anyone talking to him feel special (I think even Newt felt charmed by Clinton in person!). Trump loves him lol
Trump on Mamdani: "I think he's gonna surprise some conservative people, actually. And some very liberal people he won't surprise because they already like him."
November 21, 2025 at 11:27 PM
Mamdani has charmed Trump after one meeting? This is wild
Q: Are you affirming that you think President Trump is a fascist?

MAMDANI: I've spoken about--

TRUMP: That's okay. You can just say yes. I don't mind.

Today I was on a Teams and my male coworker’s sound cut out. He did not notice.

My female coworker and I had a whole conversation about how long this could go on, her Christmas decorations, and were near cry-laughing 😂 before giving up and messaging him. It was 5 mins at least

We were on camera.

“Walmart and others.” It’s a lie that the cost of food is down, but also clear the man cannot name another grocery store.
Trump shamelessly lies: "Go to Walmart and other companies, and in every case it's about 25% that a Thanksgiving meal and surroundings are 25% lower. That's big fact."

you could fact check this — there aren’t 30 million illegal immigrants and there is no evidence that the presence of an immigrant in say houston has any impact on housing in madison, wisconsin — or you could note straightforwardly that this is just nazi rhetoric
JD Vance: "A lot of young people are saying housing is way too expensive. Why is that? Because we flooded the country with 30 million illegal immigrants who were taking houses that ought by right go to American citizens."

It is literally about snowflakes. That kevlar isn’t very warm and the material over their faces isn’t very thick. Stepping in slush higher than your boot is unpleasant. Falling on your ass one an icy sidewalk, even more so. ICE is fleeing winter.
Gov. Pritzker: “All I can say is that whether it was the loss in the elections a week ago that's led to Donald Trump deciding to pull CBP out or the fact that Greg Bovino is a snowflake…Whatever it is, the people of Chicago have deserved better than having CBP and Greg Bovino in this city.”

In the century leading up to 1975, nearly 6000 freighters went down in the Great Lakes.

The Edmund Fitzgerald was the last.

The last. In 50 years, not a single commercial freighter has been lost in the Great Lakes.

Why?

It's NOAA. Of course it's NOAA.

There are Health Reimbursement Accounts (HRAs) and Medical Expense Reimbursement Plans (MERPs) that can be used to pay for medical premiums, but these dumbfucks don’t know that

Don’t even get me started on who would administer these accounts. For a fee, obvi. Whereas premiums credits are just there

Insurance premiums, which is where people are seeing enormous increases, are not eligible FSA expenses. There are also limits on how much can be set aside in an FSA, which is $3,400 for 2026.

So even if someone could use FSA dollars for insurance premiums, it would cover a month or two? Maybe?

That involves sending federal money into FSAs instead of insurance companies" www.wsj.com/politics/pol...
