This idea that "the wrong sort of person might benefit" is a poison that contaminates thought and if you hold it you need to question why.
Society is made worse by this thinking, the idea that we have to punish those in need harms us all in numerous ways.

Balancing "no person with a disability should be denied accommodations" with "it's important to discourage non-disabled people from pretending to be disabled to take advantage of these accommodations" is really difficult and I don't have a great answer for what anyone should do about it.

Disabled people don't just deserve your support, they deserve your effort. Not just bc it's the right thing to do, and why suck when you don't have to, but because a future version of you is also a part of the disabled community. Sure would be nice to have better standards when you get there, innit
