my 15 year old self was strangely obsessed with doodling a world where dragons had to be towed to battle off the back of special fighter planes and then getting dropped into spots the fighter jets couldn't go.

Which is objectively both the worst and the most metal idea I ever had.

I know its often said to be a surgeon you do have to be able to shut off basic empathy
in order to not flinch over the idea of cutting into another human being but some of them uh...dont turn it back on.

In all fairness, they mentioned the model of ship was used in the overhead announcements on the trip, but it didn't occur to me that this particular ship was ACTUALLY THERE. The reason it can store so many cars on it was because it was BUILT TO CARRY TANKS.

When we visited Long Island last week, we took a ferry called Cape Henlopen. However as we were disembarking I happened to notice under her name was "LST-510" along with a note on her most distinguished service.

Reader, this ferry served on D-Day.

I know very little about Warhammer 40k but that lore bit that inspired Event Horizon, about how the ships get possessed when they travel faster than light without proper protection is the coolest thing in the world.

Took toddler to the amusement park to enjoy its Halloween events. It was kind of wonderful to watch her trick or treat, decorate pumpkins, and chase dry ice bubbles. I guess some of the magic of having kids is getting to revisit your childhood from the other side of all those years.

Can I just say it’s nice to see a frog used as a mascot and taking power from the one used and twisted by the right. Big difference takes balls and humour to be them frogs on the line compared to a faceless person behind a racist meme.
