I was about to be disappointed that Suda51 had fallen to the dark side, but then I read that he and Grasshopper Manufacture have nothing to do with this so, well...
I mean, it's in the name. And the fact we hadn't really heard much about it up until now means it will be very easy to do so.

To heal our divided nation I propose splitting Game of the Year awards into two categories:
- Game of the Year That’s 3D and You Use a Sword and/or Gun to Explode a Guy
- Game of the Year That’s Some Gay Bullshit Indie Meditation on Grief or Whatever

Comments on this are depressing. That "Alert" guy seems particularly obsessive in defending Valve's nonsensical decision (and stubborn refusal to reconsider) here, even though Valve's "additional context" adds absolutely nothing to the discussion whatsoever.

Not a single person who plays/enjoys video games gets to make fun of the aesthetics of Quest 64 or Brian's hair on a planet where we facilitated the existence of this particular abomination.
Shout out to @jasonbwilson.bsky.social, who was a superb editor during my time, many years ago, serving the final days of GamePro. Any time I see someone say "amongst" or "most unique" I hear his voice in my head. (Complimentary)
