After years of games (and movies, and TV shows) featuring reams of irony-poisoned dialogue, Lumines Arise's sense of really *meaning* what it "says" throughout is refreshing. And that, to me, is admirable.

Lumines Arise isn't "about" something specific in the same way a story-based game is, but it definitely has recurring themes, and one of the best things about it is that it has no shame about expressing those themes.

These look great! The house interior shots remind me a lot of the background art of the original Alone in the Dark in terms of colour scheme, lighting and suchlike.
