@katebevan.com Just saw this. Thought of Daphne. (And how there is surely no way you’d get away with it with your ankles intact.)

I wish our council would do this. Instead, the flags limply wrap themselves around the Christmas decorations on the high street lampposts. It looks a right state.
Flag-shagging ain’t cheap — lad slapped with a £2,000 fine for decorating 64 lamp posts like it’s Brexit Christmas 🎄😂

Came back from lunch. iMac sounded like a jet engine. Several seconds to respond to any click. Somehow managed to get Activity Monitor open. Shell (Wallpaper) was eating CPU like nobody’s business. My wallpaper is… a plain colour. Perhaps the purple iMac took offence at the purple background.

It's such a bizarre framing. Labour MPs think taking 450k kids out of poverty is putting the country first! That's why they wanted it to happen! It's not because they personally benefit.
Headline on The World at One just now:

"Sir Keir Starmer has denied putting the Labour Party before the country by ending the two-child benefit cap".

Can we please go back to reporting the actual news, not someone's partisan take on it?

Literally!! The right wing papers Hate You Anyway!! Why not give them something to Really Hate You For, and know - at least - people will thank you in ten years time???
Serious howls of outrage in the media this morning at what is a relatively modest Budget from Labour that does nothing more than fiddle around the margins.

It does highlight the missed opportunity. If you’re going to get this reaction anyway, why not at least get it for attempting a big swing?

My usual experiment to find out how bad LLMs are at technical instructions (wiring a UK plug) as applied to grok. It's just as bad as any other LLM out there:

Imagine China occupying California, Nevada, Arizona, and Oregon and then the EU telling America: “Make a deal with the occupier or we won’t support you.”

Absurd, right? No country would accept that.

Yet this is exactly what Ukraine is being told today.

Still reeling from the Stanford report on Brexit. Reduced GDP by up to 8% and investment by as much as 18%. The UK Treasury would have £40 billion more each year if Britain had remained in the EU. Devastating self-immolation.

This, from the Guardian, is Ryanair at its very worst.

It's not good enough for them to insist that they're a low-cost airline and everyone knows the rules, in circumstances like this...

I wonder if legislation is needed?
