I just picked up this HEAVY bookcase from someone on a Craigslist ad. The seller was so blown away by the cargo bike that they jumped on their bike and rode with me for a few blocks to see how it was possible to move such a load without a pickup truck. #OneLessTruck #CargoBikes #BikesAreBetter

Dec 6, 1989 I was starting exams for my 1st term of engineering school at @uwaterloo.ca
We heard about the murders on radio/TV, exams were postponed.

There was debate about what really happened & we didn't know he targeted only women, or why.
There is no debate now.

Influenza A was bad in Australia a few months ago and it looks like it's shaping up the same here. We haven't even had many parties and family get-togethers yet. And the vaccine match this year isn't great, though it gives some protection, so get it. RSV is kicking off also and covid never left.

Basically under the UCP a legislative majority is the only power and has no limits subject only to those Constitutional principles that can’t be overridden by the NWC. That’s the only limit.

Anything “the Party” doesn’t like - the rules are changed to disallow or disfavour, as with all the municipal/election meddling. Now intruding into party naming rules.

As I've been saying since January, Carney's framing of the Trump administration as a bad trading partner instead of a fascist regime would lead to greater entanglement with fascism as we work to restore relations.

I think 1st street NE is the most unserious bike thing the city does. Adjacent routes are aggressive car sewers, and yet this is entirely unploughed, with stop signs every 100m on an uphill. Who in their right mind would bike this route, especially obeying the signs? #yycbike

UPDATE: CPS has released two bodyworn camera files.

The files cover before & after my assault by baton, shield & fist, alleged choking & arrest.

They are heavily redacted by blurring + audio cut, but one shows a shield strike.

CPS retained $125 for them. ⬇️

High school sociology teacher would say that the remote garage door opener was the death of American society because it eliminated the last remaining opportunity for chance interaction with your neighbor when you no longer had to get out of the car and open the garage.
To piggyback off of John's point (reposted), it's struck me lately how the baseline level of friendliness in cities has always seemed remarkably higher than the suburbs or rural areas to me, and I think it's because everyone is used to interacting with strangers as a routine part of their day
