Reverend Dr. King was anti-war as was Coretta Scott King and she spoke out against it publicly before he did because she was also anti-nuclear war too.

Yes now I can talk about Elmer Fudd being a racist caricature initially (like most cartoons of the time. Many of them pulled inspo from the imagery of blackface and vaudeville but employ anthropomorphic characters instead of humans, like Mickey and them, or illustrate what were supposed to be Black

I can’t help but think of Malcolm X’s thoughts on Christianity here, and how he’d argue it was manipulated to prime Black people for subjugation, and condition us to embrace the “turn the other cheek” teaching in the face of violence

Good rule of thumb for friends is to imagine if China decided to start loudly discussing taking Hawaii, and how quickly you'd see red, and how unfunny you'd find it, and how belligerent your reaction to it would be. That is how Europeans and Canadians feel about this rhetoric from the US.
