My mom and stepdad are from the same diaspora group as Zohran Mamdani’s dad (same like “my stepdad was kicked out of the same town and knows some of his classmates”) and apparently the New York Times doesn’t understand how diaspora works, so I am going to tell you a little about my mom’s people!

It’s a very messy but very emotionally effective and campy movie featuring a tragic gay love story in Argentinian prison and also Jennifer Lopez doing gloriously technicolor camp, I spent much of it writhing around in emotion and gripping my roommate’s arm.

The irony is, anyone who really genuinely cares about the vision of Israel as a safe haven for Jewish people understands that Israeli safety and Palestinian liberation go hand-in-hand. You cannot repeatedly attack and abuse your neighbors and then act surprised when your neighbors don't like you.
