Really dumb move—it only solidifies the inferior second-rate status of the new award. If you really want to co-opt an institution you need to keep as much outwardly the same as possible. These losers will forever be known as the Trump honorees that got those Trump medals for a few years in the 2020s

By his logic his own father’s US citizenship should be in question—as, I suppose, should Ilan’s. He was born in 1987, but his father only immigrated to the U.S. in 1985. Was he already a citizen by the time his son was born here? Does it even matter, per Ilan’s own argument, if he was?
The evidence is the text. All you have to do is read the Constitution.
