Hi. I’m an East Coaster making good life decisions about two teams that I not only don’t care about, but aren’t even in the division of the team I care about.

I recently listened in on an analyst webcast about AI investments, and I was gobsmacked at how quickly and thoroughly they dismissed the idea that the AI opportunity might be overhyped.

It feels so much less of a measured bull case now than it does irresistible FOMO.

To all those “Let them go without food for a month, maybe they’ll get a job” people: Most SNAP recipients have jobs. Exploitative jobs that keep them living just below the poverty line. — Should they starve to death? And then what?

(sorry to Mr. Lesinski; I failed to actually include the tweet link 🤦🏾‍♂️)

The error could indeed be the result of an AI copy editor following a WSJ style guide rule on "the Netherlands," as he suggested; if you search the WSJ site for "Holland," the results are only related to people, not the country.
Chris Lesinski on X: "Quite an epic AI typo in The Journal today. The Paramount exec is named Cindy Holland and they wrote “Cindy the Netherlands” https://t.co/FywHZJWP3X" / X

Lmao the WSJ straight up using AI to write articles. And this is the print edition? The Wall Street Journal is a PR firm now. Feed it your press release and the AI will run it as news on the broadsheet
oh my GODDDDDDDDDDD

(apologies for screenshotting the hellsite, which I no longer use; I saw the link in CNN's Reliable Sources newsletter)
"The murderer reiterated that he was interested in pursuing additional victims. We did not reach out for further comment."
It's REALLY important to note that he's being sarcastic. This is the opposite of great. It's horrible. There is entertainment value in how horrible it is, but I'm setting expectations: This is dreck. This is what happens when people don't tell unfunny people that they're not funny.

If I were running the DNC, there would be Democratic Party sponsored food relief banks across the country right now that specifically welcomed anyone regardless of party affiliation.

Along with the food, there could be voter registration and links to runforsomething.net

There is a non-zero chance that the President will punish Iowa because people there had the temerity to complain about his policies to the NYTimes.

I want to give job advice to young adults on Bluesky who are entering the workforce for the first time:

If you see a basket on your boss' desk that says "signed NDAs go here," this is what we call a "red flag"

What you want to do is turn around, identify the nearest fire exit and run towards it
Kaz Nejatian, CEO of a Bay-area tech company and founding director of the Canadian right-wing media website True North, apparently agrees that free speech has limits
If this is an unpopular opinion, I am happy to sit at the uncool-kids lunch table with you.
