the “you should love ai” line is best outlined by a recent joe rogan episode. he LOVES ai music and always tells guests this. a guest pushed back on him saying “i’ve heard ai podcasts are amazing too” and joe rogan immediately pushes back. losers love it until it comes for them

I'm not joking when I say that any sports team should be required to meet some benchmark of success before being allowed to build a new stadium.
I thought the Raiders were bad BUT...

The Cleveland Browns' 31-3 loss to the Bears yesterday came out as the 11th-worst single game since 1978 by DVOA.

The Browns had an 8% offensive success rate through the first three quarters.

Buried under 12 paragraphs and 4 ads is this: that an investigation into the politicization of data was conducted not by … actually reviewing any data … but just by interviewing senior officials who disliked their chief.

So more politics.

God damn. What incredible guts this guy has.

I once took a bat away from a guy who was beating someone with it, and I can't imagine that I would have done this. Not from that distance, not having to slip through the cars.

Just a ridiculous act of heroism.

"Governments and society must take action" because in theory, companies have the -choice- not to purchase these technologies, but they're going to choose to buy them because they only care about short-term profit growth, even if they hurt themselves long-term in doing so.
Anthropic's CEO says AI could destroy half of all entry-level white-collar jobs by 2030 & boost unemployment to 20%

This could create a huge new underclass. It would be far better if tech companies built a pro-worker AI rather than an AI that maximizes layoffs www.theguardian.com/commentisfre...
