Just like AmigaOS had its continuation, and BeOS has Haiku (heck, windows NT has ReactOS), I would love to see a project that brings (and extends) back MacOS9 😍

Nothing ever made me feel more scared of students than seven years teaching in the OU system. This type of student would destroy your life by turning you into TPUSA and dance on your grave after.

Also, are we still pretending Charlie Kirk is a saint?

A union contract is the only way we can stop these systemic problems that have been making Starbucks worse year-after-year. It would only cost the company less than a day's worth of sales to put fair pay, fair scheduling, and strong protections in writing through a contract.

Oxford University Press has chosen “rage bait” as its 2025 Word of the Year. The open-compound word, which beat out “biohack” and “aura farming,” goes back at least to 2002. www.nytimes.com/2025/11/30/a...

An official government account using the word “remigration” is not normal. It’s an imported term from European far-right movements that refers to mass expulsion. Democracies do not use population-purification language. #holdfast #SteadyState

Immigration officers were sent to Chicago to detain and deport “violent offenders” that DHS said were released from jails because of “sanctuary” policies. The agency says it has arrested more than 4,000 people, but only about 120 of those have a criminal record.

DHS swept Chicago to get ‘the worst’ criminals. Many have no record.
Aggressive tactics in Chicago have been deployed in DHS’s “Operation Midway Blitz” to round up more than 4,000 people, only a small portion of whom have major criminal records.

I knew it was going to be a grad student or an adjunct. And because grad students and adjuncts are cheap and easy to replace, they're the front line in the student-as-customer model of higher ed. Unhappy customer? Sacrifice a lowly TA or adjunct, problem solved.

Unions now. Unions forever.

What’s the worst question someone can ask after you tell them your profession? For linguists, it’s definitely “how many languages do you speak?”, but I’m curious what else is happening to the rest of y’all out there?!

It has been painfully obvious for *decades* that far-right wanted force US to listen to far-right speech while making other speech illegal, but our insanely stupid & short-sighted & hateful Elite joined them in pretending their anti-free-speech agenda was actually free-speech.

My chapter specifically focuses on the history, notably the racist history and weaponization, of the bar exam, accreditation, and the LSAT. In addition, it talks about the role white spaces and the white gaze play in law school as well as how to alter white spaces and eliminate the white gaze.
I wrote Chapter 6 in the new book, "Fostering First Gen Success and Inclusion: A Guide for Law Schools"

My chapter is: "Exploring Double Consciousness, Altering White Spaces, and Removing the White Gaze in Law School: Supporting First Gen Black Law Students"
