Sort of except pitch 2 should have been a strike.
That’s probably good. We wouldn’t want that war and it’s unlikely that it would change anything anyway
Trump pulls back from UN agencies & the WTO & the WHO - China immediately increases it's support for them. Trump cuts foreign aid, China increases foreign aid - sometimes taking over the exact same projects. There are 100 little examples of him weakening the US & giving gifts to China.
He is. Latin America, Asia, and Africa, especially. People keep calling Trump a Russian asset, but the reality is that he's mainly working for China. Probably a trade - China props up Russia in Ukraine, Trump helps China. Because he's basically handing global leadership over to China without a fight
Oh and as far as our allies go - the Europeans are dealing heavily with the Chinese. China is investing heavily in Europe and the UK, and trade between Europe and China is growing rapidly.
I think the western perception of China is skewed by racism, old stereotypes and the Cold War. They are generally no more dishonest or scheming than any other country, it just makes more headlines when China does something. They haven't even been actively involved in a war since Vietnam.
We can. You just have to understand that a) China is in it for China (but everyone else is in it for themselves too and b) Sorta like the Genie thing. China will always honour its agreements to the letter. You just have to make sure you read the agreement very, very carefully.
Even if they block them in the US it would be easier to ship Chinese cars to Mexico, most of Latin America and Western Europe from Canada than from China.
It might be more realistic than we think. Apparently the Chinese talked to Trump about building plants in the US but Trump said no (probably because of Musk) and Trump is so unpredictable that China has cooled on the idea - but it's expensive to ship cars from China.
We need to talk to China, not only to remove the tariffs on their EVs but also to see if they'd like to build them in Ontario. They are better than American cars and cost less than American fossil fuel vehicles. The CEO of Ford drives a Chinese EV. insideevs.com/news/764318/...

Jobs said the Mac is a "bicycle for the mind". That vision of the Mac is now buried deeper than he is, but I suppose Linux is something akin to being a cyclist.

Everybody knows you're getting there in half the time they are, and for free, but they'll be fucked if they're ever trying it.
I am not going to tell you to use Linux, but what I am going to tell is you is it is *very* satisfying being your computer's boss and not the other way around.

This didn’t start 2 years ago.
The world has watched decades of dispossession, occupation, and genocide - in silence, in complicity.
End the genocide.

I'd like to see the US ditch Trump, but if Gavin Newsom is the best they can manage, then why bother?

I'm a single issue voter and my single issue is "do you want to feed my friends into a wood chipper", if your bitch ass can't manage a weak little "no" then get the fuck out of my face!!!!

I'm struck more and more by how much the Trump administration is handing global leadership to China. He is yeilding leadership in intl dev/aid to China, alienating allies who turn to China and doing damage to the US gov, economy & society that will take generations to fix, while China races ahead.
Private companies, NGOs and foreign governments are going to scoop up these people like it's Black Friday, and they are the last TV in stock at Walmart
Yes , they should be scrapped. They were stupid to begin with. China can build cars better than Teslas that cost less than Toyotas. The only reason for the tariffs was fear of competition. Maybe we can even get them to build EVs in Ontario but at the least Canadians can get affordable EVs.
I wonder how long it will be before some governor calls out his national guard to protect citizens from another state's national guard - sent by Trump?

I thought we voted for a more environmentally responsible Canada and a movement away from fossil fuels, did I miss something?

Newsom is an opportunistic used car salesman. Not everyone who doesn’t like Trump is a good person. The US gets zero respect points if they replace Trump with a toothpaste commercial.

Democrats insisting that Gavin Newsom is their only hope need to start looking elsewhere because NO. This guy is pure slime and no one who truly cares about human rights will vote for him. There are others like Pritzker, better people in every way, so support *them*
