Yeah I'm kinda dismayed how often text books have glaring errors, who is editing these things?
Yeah should have been my first clue honestly.
Affirmative Counseling for LGBTQI (note the is left out throughout) People but Ginicola.
Note for psychology writers: asexuality is not being disgusted by sex. Asexual people lack (or rarely experience) sexual attraction. They are just as likely to desire sex as not or be neutral and asexuality is not synonymous with low libido for crap sake. From a supposedly affirmative counseling bk.

Before we had professors, we already had books, which held more knowledge than a person. The point of a professor has never been *just* to know things.
If you think that professors exist as repositories of knowledge that students ask for answers, you’re missing the entire point of a college education.

We’re here to teach students how to do research, how to analyze and argue, how to think for themselves — how to find the answers on their own.
Wow. Just wow.

"Students pay premium prices for information that AI now delivers instantly and for free. A business student can ask ChatGPT to explain supply chain optimization or generate market analysis in seconds. The traditional lecture-and-test model faces its Blockbuster moment."
I love the dog laying there like "whatever banana people."

This is so important.

So many people think they have to "do something big" or their efforts are useless.

You don't have to do something BIG

please, just do what you CAN.
Anyway, this was supposed to be a thread about how you should be incorporating antifascist organizing into your life on a serious, manageable, ongoing basis. So do that. But I guess if it helps some ADHD folks get their shit under control, it's also gonna make us better organizers too.
Just solidarity over here from the gal who had to be talked into turning in her second client recording and is now waiting with a feeling of "doooooooom" for the grade. (It's fine, I know intellectually it will be FINE and yet...)
I was a sheltered as hell white gal and I was definitely sadly *mostly* oblivious to it IN the 90s but looking back it was everywhere, including my parents. It was just veiled/covered politely in a way and we didn't have the internet to help us see beyond our little echo chambers.

Yes your taxes should support disabled people.

They should support homeless people.

They should support those living in poverty, children and the elderly.

This is literally the purpose of taxes, and I would far rather support those who need it than continue to enrich the elite.

As people start thinking about holiday donation drive: reminder that the Salvation Army is both homophobic and requires people to attend Christian religious services to get aid, there are lots of organizations out there that don't hate some of your employees, and you should support one of them!
When I restarted running I set alerts on my watch and every time HR got too high I walked until it came back into zone, ran again, walked, ran. These days I just run, no walk breaks and it has evened out to stay in zone 3ish for long runs.
This is the mashup fan fiction we need in these times.
Kudos to the Department of East West Psychology. The Forever Jung conference was great, worked beautifully hybrid AND they recorded every session so I get to do more con ed now from the recordings and see all the talks I had to miss during the event cause I could only go to one at a time!
Oh heavens. 😵 I formerly extend an apology for Christian hegemony to my Jewish friends, no one needs that nonsense.
Grumpy priest PSA: If it is has 12 days it isn't an Advent calendar. Advent is the 4 weeks (4 Sundays but weekdays count) before the Feast of the Incarnation (Dec 25th). Christmas is the 12 days from the FoI to Epiphany. Enjoy your Christmas daily treat. Thanks for coming to my TED talk.
THIS! I literally mask when no one else is. When folks ask "Oh no, should I mask too" I let them know that's up to them. And it clearly works I haven't had so much as a cold bug since 2021. (No it isn't fool proof don't need folks quoting stats but worn properly and with a good fit it works.)

The same universe that crafted koalas and quasars and crocus petals authored the mind reading these words.
Don't let intimate knowledge of your own life rob you of the dignity and wonder you are owed.
It's interesting because I LOVE singing with other folks, a choir is my HAPPY PLACE but I rarely *listen* to music. I'm just not really interested. I find music with lyrics too distracting to have on if I need to do anything else. If I'm not singing w others I kinda prefer silence?
Hell I mask cause I haven't been sick (literally not so much as a cold) since 2021 and I like that! Also no man has told me to smile since 2021 and I have gotten used to that.
Literally own zero yellow clothes of any sort.
This is my #1 beef about postseason coverage. We end up listening to the radio feed bc I hate the TV commentary in the post season.
Winter running gear in the PNW is weird because nowhere else do folks seem to get "I need light insulation bc it is literally 36 degrees but it is also POURING so I need entirely waterproof, also reflective because it is still pitch black at 7am. We're a special breed up here in the cold rainforest.
Hah, everytime I start to hate running I have to remember to check my shoes and they are always begging to be retired. :P
Wow that's a HUGE range. $480 makes sense if you've got a small business. $3,000 not so much!
