2/9. The amount is shocking because we’re thinking through the lens of normal amounts of money. But we have to remember: these people are not normal. Their wealth is on an entirely different scale. This tool is helpful for visualizing it: mkorostoff.github.io/1-pixel-weal...

I'm deeply sad I can't write a second thesis about Christmas themes in Chanukah movies. 😂

RACHEL: Not really. I’m not super into Hanukkah.

I am a cat at heart, and the #1 thing I dislike about my house is that it's oriented in such a way that there are no spots to curl up in the sun for an afternoon nap. My forever home will have that and a fireplace.

Save this!
Here are two that I found from 2023. First goes over from newborn to age six while second goes up to age eighteen. I also included at cheat sheet that goes over general purpose that the vaccines serve, symptoms for what the associated disease has and disease complications.

If you see John Roberts in person, be sure to tell him he’s a worse Chief Justice than Roger Taney (pronounced “tawny”). That’s a nerd burn that will hit him where it counts.

COAT BATH.

It's genius. I can't believe nobody thought of that before now. All hail our AI overlords.

The attacks on trans rights, which are basic human rights, are a terrible injustice and an attack on truth and fact as well. Everyone should be deeply alarmed and it should be disqualifying for a politician to support such discrimination.

We need about a million social workers and nurses, but otherwise? Everyone else seems to be SOL.
Sure would be nice if the job market wasn't dog shit.

Was just in Cal-Ranch picking up quail food and they were playing the Maccabeats' L'cha Dodi (Hallelujah) on their Christmas mix. I busted out laughing. So close, algorithm, so close.

Gonna second this, working in hospice.
This is my yearly PSA that, no matter how old you are, you should have a basic health directive and will. The forms are free online in California. The number of senior citizens in my neighborhood with no directives and no plan who are already a little off the rails is staggering. A short rant 1/

I would rather not get a gift than have to come up with the idea myself. Just get me something you think I'd like - or don't get me anything! I'm fine with that! I'm a big girl!

Exceptions for the “health of the mother” only work in theory.

They exist to make people feel better about denying women life saving healthcare and autonomy.

Her son will grow up without a mom.

Two lives were lost.

Shame on Texas and shame on all who support this.

August 2002, Bio 101 for pre-med majors. Male professor told us to look left, look right. Only one of the three of us would graduate pre-med. Then he smirked "and if one of you three is a woman, I doubt it'll be you." That's how I started my freshman year.
In honor of Larry Summers, I asked the female members of my college class (1987) to say if they had any experiences with sexual harassment by teachers/professors, back when this was tolerated as, I dunno, the cost of attending college, and OH MY GOD.

I do fit this statistic, but my YouTube use is exclusively sleep meditation tracks from this dude in Australia and finding new Jewish music. I'm not sure "use" tells us much if anything about what people are seeing.
YouTube's reach in the US is astounding. It's used by:

62% of kids under 2 (as reported by parents)
84% of kids 2-4 (as reported by parents)
89% of kids 5-12 (as reported by parents)
90% of teens 13-17
95% of adults 18-29
92% of adults 30-49
85% of adults 50-64
64% of adults 65+
