I'm a priest, writer, poet, spiritual director, breathwork guide, Jungian influenced CMHC counseling student & maker of pie. Wonder, connect, love. Https://josephinerobertson.com She/Her.
The Reddit Fountain Pen ink is gorgeous, I totally want it. But it seems to be available only from overseas (at like $20 shipping, no), or from Goulet which I won't do business with which is really disappointing but also kinda par for Reddit.

In the past, oh yeah. Big time.

This most recent grad experience? Not once. Literally not even a breath of it from classmates, professors, etc. But I think key is I have had maybe ONE white straight male prof? Profs are mostly queer/femme/POC, and so are the students. It has been lovely.
I would be more interested to hear if any female students didn’t experience some form of sexual harassment by teachers and/or professors.

This stuff is more common than most want to admit… even these days.

The patriarchal culture needs to change.
In honor of Larry Summers, I asked the female members of my college class (1987) to say if they had any experiences with sexual harassment by teachers/professors, back when this was tolerated as, I dunno, the cost of attending college, and OH MY GOD.

Here we have a CCA (Culturally Christian Atheist) assuming their particular religious stance is beyond all reasonable controversy. My theory is that being part of the in-group allows you to just make that presumption, even when the stance in question is actually a minority of a minority opinion.

Every decade, we hear "the kids can't read or write!"

Interventions that don't work are proposed. Those that do work are ignored: reducing class sizes, making kids & families feel safe at school and welcome, becoming a community resource.

When their expensive reform fails, they yell at us again.

Personal UI pet peeve: If you are requiring 2 factor auth to login (and you should) then you need to AUTOMATICALLY PLACE THE DAMN CURSOR IN THE FIELD! This is incredibly simple but SO improves user experience and reduces frustration making people more likely to use the 2 FA options! Reduce clicks!

It seems to me that this pretty straightforwardly breaks the commandment against idolatry.

I've been rereading my childhood catechism this year. It sucks in a lot of ways, but they do get this one right.

"What need have I of all your sacrifices?" says the Lord...

Bring no more vain offerings. Incense is offensive to Me...

Learn to do good. Seek justice. Aid the oppressed. Uphold the rights of the orphan. Plead for the widow."

Isaiah 1.11 to 17
From this minister's op-ed: "People wanting to experience God are more likely to meet the Divine trying to shut down the Broadview, Illinois, ICE facility than we ever were in church...God does not live in our houses of worship, but...with those who are bearing the brunt of cruelty in this moment."
Oh wow @reuters.com got the photo here:

I so appreciate @travisbaldree.bsky.social (currently reading his newest), more cozy nonsexual fantasy please. Other than his stuff literally EVERY fantasy novel I've picked up this year at some point transforms into a romance novel and I am so sick to the teeth of it. (Ace romance also welcome.)

Ah the joys of the Seattle area where Google maps is like "listen it could take 20 minutes, it could take an hour, better leave yesterday." *sigh*

It's not about changing minds, it's about avoiding sacrilege. Because he's their idol.

This is literally the basis of my claim that MAGA is idolatry: They don't fear the truth. DT is above the truth to them. He is an idol, and the only thing they want to avoid is desecration of his name.
Look - and I'm being serious here - I don't get why they don't just release the files. He's survived everything else. Nobody is going to abandon him over this at long last, right? They can just find a way to explain themselves out of it. Why all this effort?!

This meeting could have been an email.
Even better, it could have been summarized on ink stained parchment, rolled up into a tube made of ancient bone, and delivered by a witch trained raven, still smelling of sulpher and malice.

I have bsky randomly inserting posts from the feeds I follow (just 4 I pruned) into my following feed and the Science feed is either THE COOLEST geeky stuff or a post where I stare at it for 2 minutes because not a single word is comprehensible and I love that.

I am back to offering once monthly breathwork support groups. These groups utilize an over-breathing technique which provides powerful access to whole self knowing, somatic, cognitive, emotional, spiritual. The practice is great for discernment, grief, and stress.

🫠 Did 25 quilt blocks this weekend. Today SEWED the rows together. Went to sew the borders (4) on and... emptied my enormous spool of quilt thread. I have no more in the closet. This quilt is cursed I tell you. DIL 2 may be getting it DURING the 12 days instead of on the 1st.

Don't stop searching for joy.
Track it down if you can.
Look in cluttered bookstores, historic theaters, haunted playgrounds, and misty moors.
Take joy out for tea, adventure, and gentle mischief across the land.

It’s hard to believe now, but Republican politicians used to care about things other than obstructionism, destroying the government, and staying in office.

They don’t have to be like this now. It’s a choice they’re making.

Everytime someone is like "but don't you HATE winter in the PNW? The rain is TERRIBLE!" I'm like, "man this is where I spent the first 30 years of my life, no, no I do not hate the rain." (Picture Michigan state patrol of road conditions this morning)
