The part of being a woman in academia where you have to constantly gut-check whether your mentor really thinks your work is good or if he’s just waiting to try something* is EXHAUSTING.

* sometimes it’s both and that’s worse
Look, I know this weaponization of male academic interest is the oldest story in the book, but it’s just so, so pernicious. It’s awful to the women directly involved, but it’s also awful to *all* women in the academy, who have to live in its shadow all the time.

The Trump propaganda machine tells us that ICE officials are being assaulted.
The evidence says otherwise.

Republican Sen. John Barrasso, the majority whip, doesn’t commit to holding a Senate vote on the bill to release the Epstein files if it passes the House. “We’ll have a discussion about it and make a decision from there.”

The Harvard Crimson has ID'ed and published the name of a well-known economist who was the subject of emails between Larry Summers and Epstein.

Born in China, she did her B.A. – Ph.D. at Harvard.

The code name that Summers and Epstein used in their emails about her was "peril." What a vile pig.

This is absolutely disgusting. Larry Summers discussed wanting to fuck a former Harvard student who was Chinese with Epstein. He nick named her "peril" a reference to the racist "yellow peril."

Larry Summers needs to resign.

Trump and Pete Hegseth just killed three more people in another bombing, this time in the Pacific. The dead were said to be part of a "designated terrorist organization," which is itself utterly absurd. No evidence provided.
Trump's illegal murders in the Caribbean just got worse. An internal DOJ memo on the bombings says the victims are waging war on the US, but per NYT, it extensively cites the WH's *own claims* to this effect as evidence!

It gets even darker than that. 1/
