Trans women has been welcomed at the Women's Institute since the 1970s and one member is in her 80's and has been a member for decades. This is pure bigotry pushed by legal threats backed monetarily by JK Rowling.

Last week, ICE arrested and separated a father and son after a routine check-in. Six-year-old Yuanxin had just enrolled in the first grade at an elementary school in Astoria. Now he's in custody, alone. ICE won't say where. This cruelty serves no one. It must end.

Looks like there'll be lots of family-friendly activities and opportunities to shop local for the holidays.

It's sad that the success of something that resonated with kids has been weaponized against trans people—I especially feel for all the trans kids who have to live with Rowling's work being embraced by peers knowing how much hate she has aimed at their young lives. No kid deserves that.
i hope every single person who still buys harry potter merch or engages with that franchise is happy that they're literally making girl guides cry

girl guides uk have been forced very much against their will to exclude trans girls. full statement is here: www.girlguiding.org.uk/information-...

These sorts of things annoy me.

Eversource is doing a good thing _here_, however people struggled with bills last winter because Eversource price gouged its customers via “delivery” fees.

They are not saviors, they contributed to food insecurity and will eagerly hike prices again when allowed.
