Gavin Newsom is a shitheel who should never be president, but the legislation he vetoed was unconstitutional, poorly written, both underinclusive and overexclusive, a severe privacy infringement for adults, and would have done nothing but cost California lots of money in court (to lose)

Thinking about how we increasingly/instinctively turn to AI to create something for us, and then it follows a specific set of internal instructions to do so, and then we take credit for the creation. I see pieces like this a lot, often w/ a spin of lamenting cultural degeneration, but reading is a LABOR issue, it’s declined because so many people are working overtime or two jobs & employers expect after hours work. France has Earth’s highest reading rate b/c long lunch breaks & labor protections
