If you're a radical leftist, a progressive, a liberal, or even just a plain old Democrat, I'm probably on board with your politics.

But in this political climate, that shit doesn't matter because we're not even in the ballpark.

So until the room changes a LOT, I'm focusing on other shit.

Similar mouth shape and apart from that I've only ever really seen her in the glasses.

I'm not an expert, but it's close enough that if you told me it was, I wouldn't question it.

We're deeply fortunate that these people are so I'm stupid. If they were competent this would have been over immediately.

I imagine being out west helps a bit. I'm in the bung hole of America, but also I have plenty of privileges that makes me an unlikely target, so I'm here for a little while at least.

Draw Steel for sure. Also, Exalted, but it's a LOT to wrap your head around. Scion is better on that front and even more epic, if that's possible.

Happy Ada Lovelace day.

Remember that meme from a few years ago where women asked men to name a woman and they all named like family or porn stars?

I said Ada Lovelace because she's awesome. well, she Was awesome. She died in 1852, so she'd be a bajillionty years old now.

Maga chumps, get out.
Maga folks, cough cough.
Alt right guys, bye bye.

Yeah that's exactly the process. Bugs Bunny was comparing Elmer fudd to nimrod ironically, but nobody remembers who Nimrod is anymore. So now the word basically means a dumbass.

The only reason that hasn't happened with Einstein is that enough people still remember who he was.

Sadly, they never seem to learn that lesson. Seems that we just keep learning it for them.

That's a kid with good taste.

Pst. That magical ceasefire was already violated. Shocking.

But eventually people are going to notice that even when we fix the systems, we can't use these models to get the results that we want because the results that we want are not in there.
joeauerbach.bsky.social
Honestly, the only reason we're not noticing how terrible the results are yet is that our results using standard systems have been pretty bad for a while now due to outside influence like shitty politics.

They're treating it like an iPhone feature instead of what it actually is, which is a computer that makes things up at the cost of all of our energy, all of our intellectual property and our entire environment.

The vibe I get with these large models is that people are doing no critical thinking about them whatsoever.

Big companies have said they're going to be the next big thing and so everybody just starts knee-jerk adding it into everything they do.

These are outstanding categories.

What do you call a thing you've written that's like 5-800 words? Still a short story?

I wrote a thing that's like 600 words and I don't think it's a short story. It feels like a moment. There's not really an arc.

I'm calling it a sketch or a still life, but I'd love a better name if it exists.

I love that he spent so long calling everyone else a liar and now everyone all the way up to the supreme court knows that every single word that comes out of his rancid mouth is a heap of shit. I think that's lovely.
