I think the point is that nothing is going to end recreational use. Criminalising it hasn't done that, certainly. But with regulation people can get help when they need it, AND are not engaging with dealers and suppliers who actively try to get people addicted/don't care how much harm they do.

Jaw-dropping.
The word is offensive because it names an offensive thing. It has to be named to be effectively confronted. She doesn't want it confronted. She wants it to have free rein.
Well. She's out of luck.

#inktober day 14 'Trunk'

The memory of an Oak is written within
Unseen til death
Memories of
sunrise and sunset
hard winters
dark summers
gentle rain
plenty and drought
More changes than our memory ever holds
And now
We trace those years with our fingers, touching history we can only imagine

YES. Thank you @zackpolanski.bsky.social for standing up for trans inclusive women.

Conservative women like Carol Malone refuse to talk to or platform us, so we never get a chance to refute their nonsense.

Carole Malone, "Youu can't say what women's rights are because you're not a woman"

Zack Polanski, "You're not trans are you. We can all say you're not that thing so you can't have an opinion" 🔥

"You can still have an opinion from listening to people"

This isn't an either/or situation. I want both. Then I will want more and other. My hunger is insatiable. I will have a Hookland library with a wall devoted to Emily. There will be dust and spiders, owls and mice, and ivy lacing its way along the shelves. Keep it coming. 🖤
joannahastings.bsky.social
I want to spend a day and a night wandering wild places with Emily, listening to the things she says. Failing that, I want a little book filled with quotations like this. With illustrations, please, @tomsbrown.bsky.social. The Way of the Witch, by Emily C Banting.
I know you're both busy.

An interesting, if depressing read.
I'm no expert, but @greenparty.org.uk and @zackpolanski.bsky.social will need to have good, creative brains unravelling the complexities of this. There has to be a way to do it that works. The current situation is untenable.

This is truth in its purest form.

"The Greens will never be in 'hock to multibillionaires and unethical corporations.'" Green Party rules on donations are an asset, not a liability. Donors will be inspired, and burgeoning membership offers grassroots funding. Stay fearless, @zackpolanski.bsky.social.

Well, if it works out ever, Sheffield would love to welcome you. In the meantime, I'll read your book. 💙🌊

I went ahead and bought two fish ones because it said 'silver' in the descriptions. If you ever find a particularly large blue piece, though, I'd love to know!

But think of the Peak District...!
joannahastings.bsky.social
I'll get my lovely local place to order it for me, and hopefully a few more for their shelves.

I can't support Waterstones, sadly. Will wait and buy from an indie bookshop. Looking forward to it!

What metal do you use, Catherine? I'm allergic to most alloys...

We're not 'splitting' the vote. Labour has alienated its voting base. The vote has ALREADY been split by Labour itself.

The Greens will certainly be targeted. Mud-slinging will escalate with every success. All we can do is try.

That's all now. This conversation isn't getting anywhere.

Just over £13k still needed to save 112 acres of nature-rich land amid the dairy pastures of Devon. Please chip in if you can, or share this widely.

I traditionally vote Labour and I wouldn't touch them now with a 10 ft pole. I wouldn't vote for them even if the Greens disappeared in a puff of smoke.
The Greens wouldn't be making this headway if Labour was acting like Labour. The Greens aren't *taking* Labour voters. Labour is pushing us away.

I don't trust the political system either, & I don't know that I'm optimistic. You're saying that Reform will win no matter what. Maybe they will. So why do you think it matters if people support the Greens? If it helps, good! If it doesn't, at least I'll have voted for something I believe in.
