I loved the Quaker response to demands for toilet exclusion. (Summary: everything's open to trans people because that's basic decent behaviour. If cis people are bothered about it they can use the single cubicle upstairs.)

Threatened with billionaire-funded legal action, too cash-strapped to fight? Scared of being baselessly accused of harming children––so they harm children? At this rate, with this encouragement, the transphobes won't stop until trans people are driven into holes in the ground.

This is brilliant.

I thought the whole point of PIP was to support people in doing things they may not otherwise be able to do. This whole 'you receive PIP and you're DOING THINGS?' attitude is absurd, stupid and cruel.

She had such great titles. Touch Not the Cat, Madam Will You Talk?, This Rough Magic... they were all goose-bumpy. Brilliant. I'm terrible with titles so I'm in awe of people who can do that. Of course, many of them are snippets of quotes, which is honestly a great strategy.

I also seem to remember them all being very class/money focused. Always a lot of mansions and fast cars and staggeringly expensive meals/jewels/clothes. But I enjoyed that at the time.

I used to love Mary Stewart. My mother had all her books, and I read them end to end, some of them multiple times, in my teens. I wonder if they'd hold up now? Would the women get on my nerves? (Would the men get on my nerves?) I remember the women being quite active and self-reliant.

Christopher Snowdon isn't a guru. He works for the IEA, described (in words upheld by Ofcom) as a politically motivated lobbying organisation funded by "dark money" of "questionable provenance, with dubious ideas and validity", staffed by people who are not proper experts on their topic. Credible?
